Great Episode About A Great Tournament.
I have personally always been enthusiastic for spelling bees. And it seems like this is the only episode in a family sitcom that deals with one. Fine by me!
Stephanie is the best speller in her class. If she wins the spelling bee in her grade, she can go on to city, then state, then nationals. Despite being an excellent speller, she bears a slim chance of outdoing her peer David "Human Dictionary" Chu.
Stephanie's preparations prompts Michelle to learn how to read with some difficulty.
Since reading is so crucial and so many people these days can't spell, it gives me great pride to see those that can. Stephanie and Michelle are good examples.
This episode also tackles winning and losing great. The means of being a good winner, sore loser, etc.
