DriveGoofs
Continuity
While stealing a Mustang GT, Driver can be seen wearing his driving gloves as he walks up to the car. The gloves are seen in the next shot hanging from the rear pocket of his jeans as he enters the vehicle with bare hands, only to reappear on his hands when he is behind the wheel in the following shot.
During the car chase after the pawn shop robbery they drive towards a silver Ford Focus which honks its horn. When they pass the car it turns out to be a blue Toyota Corolla.
In the initial scene when Driver is waiting for the two robbers to return, a crew member can be seen walking in the driver side mirror of the Chevy impala.
Factual errors
When Driver crashes into Nino's car and pushes him off the cliff, the car at the top of the cliff has all front end lights working. There is no chance the lights would have survived such an impact.
When Driver steals the Mustang off the street he gains access without using a key. He would have needed a properly cut and coded transponder key to start the car. Also car's alarm would have gone off right when the Driver opened the door.
During the initial sequence, Driver is listening to the Clippers game on the radio, but the XM radio is tuned to the 60s on 6 channel, which plays music from the 1960s, not current sports.
Revealing mistakes
In one shot, the tachometer on Driver's steering column reads 0 RPMs as he drives around. This is likely due to the vehicle being towed on a dolly. The tachometer can be seen working in other shots.
Obviously flipped footage of Driver when he first spots Irene and Benicio standing with Shannon at the garage. In addition to the text on the lift being backwards, his hair is parted in a different direction and the brown patch on his denim shirt has jumped to the other side of his chest.
The production used two different Mustang GT's while filming. One, a 2011 model, is equipped with the 5.0L engine. The other is a 2010 model, which looks identical but is equipped with a 4.6L engine. All 2011 and later model Mustangs equip a wide view mini mirror, which can be seen when Driver steals the Mustang before the pawn shop heist. In the chase following the heist, the mirror is a regular full-on driver-side mirror without wide view, last used on the 2010 model.
Miscellaneous
Near the end of the opening credits, we see Driver pulling in to his parking spot at his apartment. The spot is labeled 520. However, Driver's apartment door in subsequent scenes is 405.
Audio/visual unsynchronised
During the initial chase Driver realizes they have been spotted on the bridge by the police helicopter. He immediately puts his foot down and the engine sound suggest fast acceleration. However, the distance to the other cars in front hardly changes in the following scenes, if at all.
When The Driver opens the door for the robbers at the beginning of the movie, you can hear the car make a beeping noise. This "key in ignition" noise only plays when the driver's door is open, to prevent locking the keys in the car.
After the Pawn Shop robbery the driver is being chased by a Chrysler 300 and then suddenly handbrake turns and carries on in reverse. Gear changes can be heard but that is not possible while driving in reverse.
Crew or equipment visible
The camera reflection is seen on a dolly move where the Driver sees Irene with Benicio outside the Grocery Store and gives them a ride home.
At 44:38 into the movie and during the chase after the pawn shop robbery, the camera cuts to a shot of the girl in the back seat showing the chase car being flipped in slow motion. Just to her left shoulder on the rear interior deck of the car is the Iconix HD camera that is used to photograph some of the case scene.
In the chase scene after the pawn shop robbery, in several shots where the camera is shooting the front of the Mustang dust can be seen flying up in front on the Mustang, which is supposedly the car in front. The dust is clearly from a camera vehicle in front of the Mustang.
Character error
A television shows the Los Angeles Clippers playing the Toronto Raptors in the opening scene. Later, while Driver waits in his car, the radio announcer calls the score of an NBA game between the Boston Celtics at 77 points and the Los Angeles Clippers at 72 points. Moments later, after announcing the Celtics scored, the radio announcer states the score is still Celtics 77, Clippers 72.
