Many moons ago, we had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with writer/director/composer/etc. Jay Woelfel. We had discussed his film "Beyond Dreams Door" on Episode #23, and after a great many technical issues- we're proud to finally present this interview! Mr. Woelfel has been directing films since the late 80's and shows no signs of stopping. His most recent output are 2 films (Season of Darkness/Closed for the Season) both shot in our old/current stomping grounds in The Heart of it All. His other works include Ghost Lake, Live Evil, and Trancers 6. He currently resides in Los Angeles and is probably wondering why this has taken to long to post online.
Look for more of his films on upcoming episodes of Junk Food Dinner!

Marcus Koch seems to be the go to guy for special effects these days in the indie horror world. Having racked up a number of credits in the past few years including Bloody Bloody Bible Camp starring Reggie Bannister (Phantasm), Tim Sullivan (host of the TV show Scream Queens and director of 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams), and adult film superstar Ron Jeremy. He has also worked on Herschell Gordon Lewis's The Uh-Oh Show, Andrew Allan's Brainjacked, Jay Woelfel's Live Evil and many other films. Marcus Koch has also stepped back into the director's chair with Fell starring Jeff Dylan Graham. Here's what Marcus Koch had to say about his career.
So who is Marcus Koch and what is he all about?
Not sure yet, but, I'm a Pieces. Sometimes I don hideous mohawks, listen to bad 80's music and collect cheesy tuxedo t-Shirts. I love horror films and I love weird art.

A film titled Dahmer vs. Gacy doesn't seem the type to be garnering awards at film festivals across the country, but that's exactly what's happening. It just won "Outstanding Cast Performance" at the Action on Film International Film Festival in Pasadena, California, and earlier this year the film also was voted "Audience Choice Award" winner at the Bare Bones Independent Film Fest in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Produced and directed by Ford Austin from a script by Chris Watson and Andrew Rausch, Dahmer Vs. Gacy stars Ford Austin and Randal Malone as Dahmer and Gacy in a slaughter-filled rampage that includes appearances by Harland Williams (Half Baked), Art Lafleur (The Replacements), Steven Adler (Guns 'N Roses), Ethan Phillips (Star Trek: Voyager), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Jerry Maren (Wizard of Oz), Bonnie Aarons (Drag Me to Hell), Irwin Keyes (House of 1000 Corpses), Jed Rowen (Acts of Violence), Lee Perkins (Live Evil), Brooke Lewis (iMurders), and many more!

You see? This is reason #89 while I will always remain a damned city boy. No matter how you slice it there is stuff happening deep within the woods that I want absolutely no part of! From inbred mutants to well, yes, monsters, you just never know what is gonna smack you in the face (thereby tearing it off and sending it sailing through the air) next.
Such is the case with Jason Horton's latest indie effort Monsters in the Woods starring Glenn Plummer (Speed, Saw 2, The Salton Sea), Lee Perkins (Live Evil, The Red Machine, Katiebird), Kristian Bernard (Ride or Die, Sugar Valentine, Vegas Vampires) and Annemarie Pazmino (Edges of Darkness, On Bloody Sunday, Small Town Saturday Night).

Shoreline Entertainment has recently signed three films by notorious low budget filmmaker Creep Creepersin, just in time for Afm.
First up is Orgy of Blood, an erotic vampire film starring Domiziano Arcangeli, who is also executive producer. The film, also starring Chandler Maness ("Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency"), Randal Malone (Curse of Lizzie Borden), Jeff Dylan Graham (Psychosomatika), and a slew of horror genre favorites, wrapped in May. Orgy of Blood was written and directed by Creep Creepersin and produced by Aine Leicht and Nikki Wall.
Shoreline also snapped up two more Creepersin films for release as a Grindhouse-style double feature: The Creep Creepersin Double Featuresin. Comprised of Vaginal Holocaust and Caged Lesbos a-Go-Go, the double feature is a heavy throwback to 60’s and 70’s exploitation films.

The much-talked about H.G. Lewis-inspired Smash Cut has been added to our Fango Film Fest for the inaugural Fangoria Trinity Of Terrors taking place October 30 through November 1 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas!
Able Whitman (David Hess - appearing at The Trinity!) is a horror-film director whose movies are panned by critics and audiences alike — until he starts killing people and using their body parts as props in his new flick.
Now, only intrepid Smash Cut. reporter April Carson (Sasha Grey) and celebrated private detective Isaac Beaumonde (Jesse Buck) stand between the demonic director and his unquenchable thirst for butchery at 24 frames per second!
Inspired by the career and filmography of Herschell Gordon Lewis, Smash Cut is a gore-splattered satire of the blood sport known as filmmaking.

Promo poster for director Jay Woelfel's Live Evil which stars B movie legend's Tim Thomerson (Near Dark, Trancers) and Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead, The Devil's Rejects). As well as modern B movie regulars Lee Perkins and Mark Hengst.

He's out for revenge on a "clique" of four vampires who are traveling across country in search of "pure blood." The human blood stream has become polluted by drugs, alcohol, Aids, Diabetes, anti-depressants, cigarettes, anything that changes the blood even a small amount makes it undrinkable for Vampires, who, like hi-performance automobiles need "hi test" fuel= Blood in order to survive. While discussing his role in Jay Woelfel’s upcoming vampire flick Live Evil, veteran actor Tim Thomerson dropped some news that will excite fans of his Trancers film series. “I’ve been talking with Charlie Band and Full Moon,” he tells us, “and we’re in the early, early stages of trying to bring Jack Deth back one more time.”
Thomerson has played the time-tripping hero in five features since 1985; Deth’s daughter Jo took over in 2002’s Trancers 6, the series’ last entry. While nothing is concrete, Thomerson does share a few details about what we might expect from another Trancers flick. “We’re trying to put him in and shoot it in China,” he says. “Bill Moseley, who we love, might be involved. It’ll be kind of cool, because we’re trying to get back to the noirish feel of it, and it’ll be just a...

On a mission to avenge his family, who was slaughtered by a rogue group of vampires in the distant past, The Priest (Tim Thomerson) travels rural regions in search of those who cast misery upon him so early in life. This band of blood suckers isn’t all too difficult to find. Their incessant thirst for blood leads to careless, and quite messy mistakes. Which, in turn leads to The Priest directly to this band of plasma thieves. It all comes down to one man, fire in heart battling a group of undead with a few secrets tucked carefully away. Who knows if God can help this priest out…

Jay Woelfel's Live Evil has scored a theatrical release of 300 screens across the nation and will start rolling out on September 18th before seeing the light of DVD in early November. This film is particularly notable for Pretty Scary in that it stars not just one, but two Scary Studs of the Month!
Actors Ken Foree (October 2004) and Mark Hengst (July 2008) have both graced the illustrious pages of Pretty Scary, and both men have teamed up to star in the new vampiric thriller Live Evil.
The film, which also stars Elissa Dowling (I like her!) and Tiffany Shepis (her too!), tells the story of vampires having trouble surviving in a world where the blood supply has become polluted by drugs and STDs. Presumably global warming and the soaring costs of health care isn't making them very happy either.
I personally haven't seen the film and so withhold stronger comment,...
