An intelligent international crime writer attempts to out wit a clever homicide detective, only to be trapped by her in his own intricate scheme.
The main character Mary Anne Cooper, played by Sherilyn Fenn (who became famous for her role in Twin Peaks (1990)) has the same surname as "Twin Peaks"' main character Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). Both characters are called 'Coop' by their fellow detectives or FBI agents.
At around 14 minutes in, Detective Cooper lays papers and two objects on the table in the interview room. At around 16 minutes one of the objects is missing but reappears in less than a minute.
