Notorious for its specificity, Mad Men was actually so meticulous that it was planned down to the hour when it was taking place. For example, the makeup department was instructed to adjust Jon Hamm's skin with appropriate facial hair if the scene was taking place after 5 to resemble Draper's 5 O'clock shadow.
