In Dennis Dugan's widely maligned 2011 comedy film "Jack and Jill," Adam Sandler played Jack, an advertising executive who was desperate to close a valuable account with Dunkin' Donuts. Jack million-dollar idea for the campaign is to secure the services of Al Pacino, as his name sorta-rhymes with the bakery's new coffee product, the Dunkaccino. Pacino plays himself in "Jack and Jill," and Jack repeatedly tries to get the actor's attention in public, as to make an impromptu ad pitch. Jack only becomes successful after Pacino expresses romantic interest in his twin sister Jill (also Sandler). 

Audiences are then "treated" to the complete version of Jack's Dunkin' Donuts commercial, and it has become the stuff of cinematic infamy. Pacino raps awkwardly about the Dunkaccino, making references to his own filmography. In a new interview with The BBC on his autobiography ‘Sonny Boy,’ the 84-year-old veteran actor revealed that he has found other ways to interact with his baby son now that they don’t live together.

“He does text me from time to time,” Pacino said, referring to his last born child, Roman.

“You know, I have this little person. Everything he does is interesting to me,” Pacino revealed. “So we talk. I play the harmonica with him and we have made this kind of contact. So it’s fun.

Al Pacino is opening up about going broke a little over ten years ago.

The 84-year-old actor shared in his new memoir, “Sonny Boy,” that he had a corrupt account and lost millions of dollars. That account eventually went to prison for their crimes.

Al Pacino has opened up about having to make drastic career changes at one point in his life after losing all his money in a Ponzi scheme.

The veteran actor shared in his recently published memoir Sonny Boy that he “had $50 million, and then I had nothing” due to a corrupt accountant, who eventually served time in prison for the scheme. Pacino said in 2011, he started “to get warnings that my accountant at the time, a guy who had lots of celebrity clients, was not to be trusted.”

Following the scheme, the Oscar-winning actor said he “was broke” after overspending and the accountant’s mismanaging of his finances.

“In this business, when you make $10 million dollars for a film, it’s not $10 million. Because after the lawyers, and the agents, and the publicist, and the government, it’s not $10 million, it’s four and half in your pocket,” The Godfather star explained in his book.

Finally, it seems we have an explanation as to why Al Pacino starred in Adam Sandler’s “Jack and Jill.”

A few days ago, it was announced that Happy Gilmore would be getting a new 4K Blu-ray release from the Kino Lorber video label. The ultra-high-definition transfer of the Adam Sandler comedy is due to hit retailers sometime early next year, presumably to coincide with the release of the Netflix sequel. It has now been announced, per Blu-ray.com, that Sandler’s previous breakout film, Billy Madison, will also be getting a 4K release from Kino Lorber that is scheduled to become available to consumers also early next year.

As Adam Sandler breaks out the clubs to return to the gentleman’s game of golf for the upcoming sequel Happy Gilmore 2, the Blu-ray label Kino Lorber will be bringing the original film to you in glorious 4K imagery. Writer-director Samuel Van Grinsven says that his new film “Went Up the Hill” was inspired by a single image of two people in a room, a coffin between them, both equally mourning the person inside, but knowing next to nothing about one another.

For a time, it seemed like an auteur war was about to break out over Adam Sandler, with some of America’s most revered directors vying to find the right role for the comedian. It was rumored, but never confirmed, that Quentin Tarantino imagined him a key role while writing Inglourious Basterds, although this might have been wishful thinking from critics who saw the talented Sandler heading in the same direction as John Travolta until Pulp Fiction saved him from a lifetime of Look Who’s Talking movies. In the end, Paul Thomas Anderson got there first, with Punch Drunk Love (2002), although the glow of a bona fide arthouse hit didn’t last long, and Jack and Jill still happened less than ten years later.

They have one assignment: assassinate Nazi leaders. Quentin Tarantino wrote and directed the unconventional war drama. Eli Roth, Melanie Laurent, and Christopher Walz co-star.

The network is also streaming the original documentary “Mystery Unsolved: The Adnan Syed Story” on June 7. The murder of teenager Hae Min Lee was the focal point of a “Serial” podcast, which questioned if boyfriend Syed was her killer.
