I saw the movie at the premiere. I had no expectations when I went inside. The plot is very simple. A group of young teenagers going for a boat trip in the middle of nowhere. Local folks warn them to go out to an island, but as always they don't listen... There are lots of tense moments and the camera work is sometimes really good. Especially the running shots with the steady cam. The dialog is a bit dull, but hey, it's a low budget teen slasher! The music is incredible if you enjoy black metal and extreme hard rock but the score is much more intense and brings the right feeling of horror. I've seen hundreds of horror movies but I think Murder Island was one of the best in it's genre in Sweden 2005. Unfortunately the lack of blood and gore keep the movie down to a six instead of a seven. I'm really looking forward First Day Productions next feature.
