As his kingdom is being threatened by the Turks, young prince Vlad Tepes must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family, and the families of his kingdom.
This was the first big budget solo Dracula film produced by Hollywood to be release theatrically since Dracula 2000 (2000) 14 years earlier.
Lord, if you've not yet forsaken me, grant me your strength that I might resist the darkness. Allow me to endure this yet one more day. I beg you. Please.
Vlad III was not known as Vlad the Impaler during his life, but was rather given the nickname posthumously. Therefore, he would never have been called this by anybody, as he is several times in this movie.
