As his kingdom is being threatened by the Turks, young prince Vlad Tepes must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family, and the families of his kingdom.
Despite a fair amount of Turkish being spoken throughout the movie, none of the actors are Turkish or have Turkish language backgrounds. Therefore they have different accents even though their characters are intended to be all be native Turks, especially Dominic Cooper, whose accent is a dead giveaway, even when he is speaking English. His "r" sounds are more European than Turkish. Native Turkish speakers, even when speaking English, put a lot of stress on their "r"s, while Cooper almost always skips them.

The external walls of the Cozia Monastery are covered in fresco paintings. Cozia Monastery does not have such external walls, however the churches from the neighboring country (which in Vlad's time would be Moldavia) do have external walls covered in fresco paintings.
