  • I happened to be in Los Angeles for the opening of this movie and I am so glad I got to see it. It's funny, smart and outrageous at times, intelligently blending various references, styles and formats into one hilarious whole. Schraft and Mulroney play off of one another really well. At times, you ponder how much certain scenes or dialogue might remind you of "Strangers with Candy" or something like that. But then, the tone changes ever so slightly, producing this blending of different styles I mentioned. I really hope that more independent movies like this are produced in Hollywood and that they have the backing and distribution to reach those of us who aren't living in Los Angeles and able to access them as easily.

I first saw this film at a screening in Los Angeles and was blown away. So often low-budget indies falter, either from a lack of story, bad acting, or chaotic production.

Sunny & Share Love you is a rare exception. It is so clearly the bold and un-censored vision of its co-creators, Michele Mulroney & Micah Schraft (who are also the film's stars and the writers of the dozen or so songs that make up the hysterical, hummable, and sad soundtrack. It sort of redefines emo in a sick AND inventive way. Who knew this was possible?)

Now to the nitty gritty. The writing is wild, inventive, dark, gross, funny, sad, demented, surprising, and seems to actually have something to say about love, friendship, family, and art. A tall order for a mocumentary. But it scores. Big time.

An ensemble of actors, led by Mulroney and Schraft have an amazing performative, yet believable style that can only be compared to a Christopher Guest cast at its best. They hit every emotion and mine every moment for comedy and pathos with Spinal Tap-ian bravado.

The songs from the characters' reunion concept album are used geniusly to move the story and are shot in a cinematic style that combines camp cliché and total invention (another impressive achievement.)

I recommend everyone and anyone who is inspired by truly original filmmaking, is interested in a new kind of musical, and who has a dark, dark sense of humor see this film IMMEDIATELY!
