For years, Adam Sandler had stuck to dysfunctional comedy and subtle humor as his weapon of choice while choosing scripts. Three decades into his career, the comedian joined hands with the Safdie Brothers and shocked the world with his unmatched dramatic performance in Uncut Jewels. Sandler was more than just his laid-back-dude persona and the 2019 film proved that.

However, Adam Sandler is a permanent fixture in the world of comedy without whom the genre somewhat loses its illustrious rank in the echelons of Hollywood movies. Understandably, the actor’s sudden recognition from Uncut Jewels did not impede him from returning to comedy again.
In 2023, Sandler reprised his role as Nick Spitz in the follow-up to his 2019 Netflix comedy, Murder Mystery alongside his longtime on-screen collaborator and veteran Friends star, Jennifer Aniston.

Best-selling genre author Clive Barker has brought us the horrors of Rawhead Rex, Hellraiser, Nightbreed, Candyman, Lord of Illusions, The Midnight Meat Train, Dread, and Books of Blood, among other things – and now he’s bringing us the animated comedy Night of the Zoopocalypse. A trailer for the film, which is set to reach theatres on March 7, 2025, can be seen in the embed above.
Barker provided the concept for Night of the Zoopocalypse, and the idea was then fleshed out into a screenplay by Steven Hoban and James Kee. Directed by Ricardo Curtis and Rodrigo Perez-Castro, the movie has the following synopsis: One night, a meteor crashes into Colepepper Zoo unleashing a virus that transforms the animals into strange and hilarious slobbering zombie mutants. Gracie, a young quirky wolf, teams up with a gruff and fearsome mountain lion to find a way back to her pack. As the zoo is overrun,...

Vampires have fascinated filmmakers since the early days of cinema. Director F.W. Murnau’s 1922 Nosferatu is an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula. The movie was nearly lost to history when all copies were ordered destroyed after Stoker’s widow sued for copyright infringement. But a print survived, and the movie has gone on to become an influential classic. (The Witch director Robert Eggers’ remake is due out later this year.

The SAG-AFTRA President will star opposite Timothée Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, The Creator, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary a.k.a Mr. Wonderful and Abel Ferrara.
The original screenplay written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein is based loosely on Marty Reisman’s life, set in the world of 1950s Ping Pong culture. Reisman was known to be unconventional in the sport, yet won two U.S. Men’s Singles Championships in 1958 and 1960 and more than 20 international and national titles. He became famous for mastering the hardbat style, a traditional style of table tennis that uses a racket without a sponge layer to emphasize control and spin over speed and power. His mastery of the sport earned him a reputation as one of table tennis’ last greats of that era.

Unfortunately, the animated flick was met with a muted response from moviegoers, leaving the future of the series on uncertain ground.
Director Josh Cooley's "Transformers One" opened with an estimated $25 million domestically, placing in second in a tight race as Warner Bros.' "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" won out for a third straight weekend with $26 million. In a race that tight, the placement hardly matters. What does matter is the film was expected to open with at least $35 million. The only good news here is that "Transformers One" carries a relatively modest $75 million budget.

Movies based on animated series have a 50-50 chance of succeeding. The added pressure of a pre-established fanbase can either make or break the project. Genndy Tartakovsky is a legend in the animated world, with gems like Hotel Transylvania, Primal, Dexter’s Laboratory, and many more.
The Samurai Jack animated series which was released in 2001 became exponentially famous. However, most fans aren’t aware that there was once a live-action movie planned for the beloved series. One of the most famous faces in Hollywood, J.J. Abrams was approached to take on the task, but it unfortunately didn’t work out. Given the chance of the movie being planned again, action star Hiroyuki Sanada would be the best choice for the role.

The "Transformers" franchise was away for several years following the release of 2018's "Bumblebee," which helped get things back on track, critically speaking, following Michael Bay's later entries in the series. Things have changed, though, and now, fans have much to look forward to. Paramount is once again bringing the robots in disguise back to their animated roots for a new theatrical feature film titled "Transformers One," which serves as a prequel set years and years back in the timeline.
Given that the film takes place so far back in the history of Cybertron, there is much story to tell. The film's producers have already suggested that "Transformers One" is intended to set up a trilogy. So, does that set up begin once the credits roll? Do viewers need to stick around for any credits scenes? That's what we're here to discuss in spoiler-free fashion. Seriously, we will not...

Selena Gomez is now a billionaire, alongside other singers like Taylor Swift and Rihanna. Taylor Swift’s got her growing catalog of music and Rihanna’s got her catalog, alongside her successful makeup brand Fenty Beauty.
How did Selena Gomez get to her first billion? Here’s a breakdown of all her creative endeavors and businesses.
How Selena Gomez Accumulated Her Wealth
Selena Gomez has been in the spotlight from a very young age. At the age of 9, the actress found her first gig as a regular on the popular kids show ‘Barney & Friends.’ Her first major gig after that was as a lead character on the popular Disney show, ‘Wizards of Waverly Places.’
She also starred in other roles while she worked with Disney on the show, including ‘Princess Protection Program,’ which she co-starred in with Demi Lovato.

While there are those who will sigh at the mere mention of Autobots and/or Decepticons these days, there is no denying that "Transformers" has been one of the most successful franchises of the past 20 years. Dating back to Michael Bay's original 2007 live-action film, the series based on Hasbro's beloved toys has done gangbusters business at the box office, paving the way for more shows, merchandise, theme park attractions, and yes, toys. Now, can Paramount bring things full circle and deliver a hit animated feature film in this universe? That is the question "Transformers One" will have to answer.
The animated prequel is set to reach theaters next weekend. Directed by Josh Cooley, of "Toy Story 4" fame, "Transformers One" is currently eyeing an opening in the $37 to $45 million range, per Box Office Theory. That is obviously on the low side in terms of what we've come to expect from this franchise,...

Selena Gomez shares sad medical illness news she had to make peace with. The beloved actor, singer, and business owner disclosed some information in her interview with Variety Fair.
Selena Gomez on Waverly Place
Selena Gomez got her start in the acting world with her friend Demi Lovato. The two were featured on Barney and Friends when they were just about 10 years old.
When Gomez was about 15, she got her big break starring on Wizards of Waverly Place. The hit Disney Channel show followed the Russo family as they attempted to live normal lives while training to become the family wizard.

Not every child actor story turns out to be a tragedy. The Disney Channel child star to super rich adult pipeline is real, and Selena Gomez is the latest star to take it to new heights, according to a fresh report from Bloomberg. The "Only Murders in the Building" star is officially a billionaire, with a net worth of $1.3 billion dollars, but most of that money didn't come from her acting and musical career.
According to the outlet, Gomez has made her millions via a combination of acting, singing, brand partnerships, a mental health startup, and -- most importantly -- a mega-successful makeup line called Rare Beauty Brands. So, what does reportedly being richer than Zendaya or Miley Cyrus mean for the actor who first got her start on Disney's fantasy family comedy show "Wizards of Waverly Place"? Well, she can basically do whatever she wants in Hollywood.

The price was most definitely right but you get the impression from Adam Sandler that Happy Gilmore 2 is about far more than the paycheck (or Subway endorsement). With the sequel officially teed up at Netflix, Sandler is showing excitement in a way he hasn’t in a long time.
Speaking with People, Sandler said that Happy Gilmore 2 comes from a place that’s geared directly towards fans of the 1996 original. “We worked hard trying to write something that we thought people would have a good time with, and I’m more than excited, probably the most excited I’ve been in many years to shoot something.” For someone that constantly works with his friends or doubles the productions as vacations, that’s saying something.

Spooky season is nearly here.
And Peacock, Universal’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform, has just unveiled its Halloween programming line-up, full of tricks and treats from the studio’s back catalog, as well as two new series (“Teacup” and “Hysteria!”) for some fresh scares.
In 2022 and ’23, there was at least one big Blumhouse movie that simultaneously debuted on Peacock — in ’22, it was David Gordon Green’s trilogy-capping “Halloween Ends” and last year, it was the video game adaptation “Five Nights at Freddy’s”. This year doesn’t have anything quite like that, but it’s still a powerful collection of titles for every viewer.
The Sept. 1 batch includes classics like “Bride of Frankenstein,” “It Came From Outer Space” and “Werewolf of London;” 1980s favorites like “Halloween III: Season of the Witch,” “The Funhouse” and “The Thing;” along with more modern hits like the original “Candyman,” Jordan Peele’s “Us” and several entries in the “Saw” franchise.

One of the two upcoming Halloween games will be developed by pixel platformer specialists WayForward. The studio’s also working on an Ash Vs Evil Dead title.
It was announced on the 12th August that Boss Team Games is busy making two new videogames based on John Carpenter’s Halloween slasher franchise. We’ve since learned that one of those will be a 16-bit style platformer developed by WayForward.
As first reported by Eurogamer, WayForward is also working on a similarly early 90s-themed action game based on Ash Vs Evil Dead. Both games are part of Boss Team’s RetroRealms series, which implies we might be in for more sprite-filled titles based on classic film properties in the near future.

Hundreds of members of the Animation Guild, along with fellow IATSE members joining in solidarity, gathered at the IATSE 80 headquarters in Burbank on Saturday ahead of Monday’s start of contract negotiations.
The crowd was over twice that of the Guild’s previous rally in 2022. Animation writer and negotiating committee member Joey Clift told TheWrap that the union had over 2,000 RSVPs as of Friday, doubling the number of the 2022 event. He estimated that nearly 2,500 people attended in the near 90-degree heat.
Mike Rianda, animator known for his work on “Gravity Falls,” emceed the festivities Saturday afternoon. Rianda kicked off the rally by bringing up six “animation avengers” to the stage to rally the crowd, including “Steven Universe” creator Rebecca Sugar, “Hotel Transylvania” and “Samurai Jack” creator Genndy Tartakovsky and legendary Disney and DreamWorks animator James Baxter.

Fixed is back on the prowl following Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to drop the completed film.
The animated movie from director and co-writer Genndy Tartakovsky is no longer getting a release from Wbd, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. A co-production between Sony Pictures Animation and New Line, the feature was set up by the AT&T-owned WarnerMedia before the 2022 merger that led to David Zaslav running Wbd. Fixed was initially planned for release on the streaming service that was then known as HBO Max.
Wbd worked with Fixed’s team to cover production costs and enable the filmmakers to find an alternate buyer. Rights for Fixed have reverted to producer Sony, which is shopping the project.

Warner Bros. is snipping Genndy Tartakovsky‘s animated feature, Fixed, as part of a cost-cutting measure, as the studio has been doing recently. While WB is known for shelving projects fans want to see, the decision to scrap Tartakovsky’s Fixed is baffling. Tartakovsky is by many measures one of Cartoon Network’s premiere contributors, with hits like Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Primal to his name. Tartakovsky is also one of the driving forces behind the Hotel Transylvania film series, which has done well for Sony with four films of varying success in the franchise.

Warner Bros./New Line is no longer releasing Sony Pictures Animation’s “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy from writer/director Genndy Tartakovsky, Variety has learned. The distribution rights are back with Sony Pictures Animation, which is looking at a new distribution plan for the film.
Warner Bros. Discovery dropping a Tartakovsky animated title is shocking, as he is probably the biggest star to come from the company’s Cartoon Network system and was integral in its early and long-term success, having created “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Samurai Jack,” “Star Wars: Clone Wars,” and “Primal.” He also produced “The Powerpuff Girls.” In 2022, Tartakovsky signed an exclusive, multi-year, cross-studio overall deal with Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.
He has also been a significant figure for Sony. The first three “Hotel Transylvania” films, all directed by Tartakovsky and produced by the company, have grossed $1.38 billion globally.

Warner Bros has reportedly handed Fixed, an animated comedy from the director of Hotel Transylvania, back to Sony Pictures Animation.
In the wake of Warner Bros Discovery announcing its startling $10bn quarterly loss, a report has emerged that the company has decided not to release Fixed, an adult animated comedy from Hotel Transylvania filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky.
Under its original deal, Warner Bros Pictures was distributor for Fixed, with the film itself being a joint venture between production companies New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures Animation. Work on Fixed was completed in September 2023 and it was even submitted to the MPAA (which gave it an R rating) but little had been heard from the production in the months since.

Even if you don't know the name Genndy Tartakovsky, chances are high that if you watched cartoons in the '90s or '00s, you've seen his work. "Dexter's Laboratory" kickstarted the reign of Cartoon Network by becoming the first so-called "Cartoon Cartoon," while "Samurai Jack" is one of the most influential cartoons from the '00s thanks to Tartakovsky's eye for dynamic action and understanding of the importance of silence in storytelling. Even his "Star Wars: Clone Wars" micro-series continues to influence "Star Wars" to this day. And outside of animation, Tartakovsky helped save the action scenes in "Iron Man 2."
In 2012, Tartakovsky made his feature film debut with "Hotel Transylvania," a movie that brought together classic Universal Monsters and reimagined them into a fun animated movie for all ages seen from the eyes of a human who falls in love with Dracula's daughter. It was a monster movie...

Selena Gomez is arguably one of the biggest stars on the planet, boasting over 400 million Instagram followers. However, the actress, singer, and entrepreneur who began as a child star failed to parley her fame into box officer earnings.
Selena Gomez made her first on-screen appearance in the popular series Barney and Friends before making multiple guest appearances in a several Disney shows, including Hannah Montanna and The Sweet Life of Zack & Cody.
