The story of a group of British teens who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness despite questionable parenting and teachers who more want to be friends (and lovers) rather than authority figures.
This show coined the term "Skins Party", which was mostly contributed by news outlets reporting about several house parties that have been celebrated in a vaguely similar fashion as in the show. One particular incident occurred in County Durham during the 2007 Easter holidays, where a girl posted an invitation to a "Skins Unofficial Party" on her MySpace page (which she claimed was hacked). This resulted in two hundred people arriving at her house, causing about £20,000 of deliberate damage during the course of the party. In 2008, official Skins parties were introduced in several clubs in Britain, which where often called "Skins Secret Parties".
Why are you so horrible?
Katie: Because I love her more than you ever can.
Throughout the series, lighting screens and crew reflections can be seen in Sid's glasses multiple times.
Due to licensing issues, the DVDs and international broadcastings of the first three seasons have a very different soundtrack. The opening theme by Fat Segal remains intact in all versions.
