I have read the bad reviews and opinion is fine, however, this long running and very popular show is anything but 'badly acted' or 'badly written'. The main characters are strong, believable and consistent, remaining true to their archetype. Many of the main female characters are no less valued than their male counterparts, facing the same dangers and treated as equals, as they should be. Admittedly this has developed over time.

The writing addresses issues otherwise taboo in many Turkish programmes like spouse and child abuse, different sexualities, economic exclusion, political corruption, people trafficking and a plethora of other subjects. Yes, the soundtracks can be a little generic (*read cheesy. :o)) but I have still found a few new (to me) songs over the years through this programme.

Give it a go and if you don't like it, that's also good but definitely don't dismiss it.

Waste of time the actors aren't even that good, boring.

It has a unique atmosphere and audience. I know people who watch and finish regularly, even if it's like an endless series. I did not understand why. The predictable scenario and long duration are the negative aspects.

I really like this show and its my comfort show i can always enjoy the show and i really love the cast they're so good in acting i don't know why people disagree with me also its so nostalgic for me i started watching this show in 2015 and now its 2024 its almost 9 years ago and i still really like this show and watch it anytime i want i was never get bored of this show i can say I GREW UP WITH ARKA SOKAKLAR! And i really don't want this show to end but i hope more people watch this drama. I started learning turkish from this drama. But i feel bad that the ratings are so low they literally deserve more.

This series started airing before I was born and even though it is 2025 and has 17 seasons, it still hasn't ended.

It is obvious why they didn't finish it. Money I don't know about the first seasons of the series, but the seasons after 2020 started to become repetitive. Each season is almost the same as the other. The production is in God's hands anyway. They should have finished the series around 2015 or 2017. In this way, small series telling the story of each character could have been made, but at that time, there were no spin-off-like series or mini-series productions in the Turkish series industry. I will give 4 points just for the sake of the series, otherwise it would be a 2 point or even 0 point series.
