| Give Me A Primitive Comedy
When Phil Dunham is jailed for shooting the iceman -- he's fine -- for messing with wife Alice Howell, the warden moves the prison across the street so Phil can go home for lunch.

It's a funny short subject, but it looks like two or three steps backwards in time: big mustaches, simple pratfalls , gags about dwarfs, and ridiculously undercranked cameras for a laugh. Alice and husband/director Dick Smith had been producing much more sophisticated comedies for Frederick Emerald in New York. However, Emerald had merged with Bullseye to form Reelcraft and Alice and Dick had returned to the Coast to make a couple more comedies to finish up their contract. It looks far more casually done, as if they were ready to move on.

Future Our Gang member Jackie Condon appears as Alice & Phil's child.
