I'm not against watching an interesting adult film. This being based on a comic book about a zombie hooker, I thought it might be worth a look. It was not. There is nothing to recommend about this to horror fans or adult movie fans.

GrubGirl seems like it was made by horny high school students. It was very inane and immature, even more so than the typical porn movies that litter the web sites and video stores.

Being based on a comic, I thought this would have a good storyline. Instead it was the same old porno with lots of repetitive sex scenes and a tissue thin plot, only this was worse because the zombie makeup is pretty bad and a real turn off.

If watching these mildly rotted creatures have sex is your idea of a good time, maybe you should check yourself into a mental hospital, pronto!
  • With better production quality than many cult classic horror films, this title jumps out at you. The acting, as you might expect, is far from first rate, but I'm certain the movie would have been worse if they got "real" actors to do the hardcore sex scenes. This film is based on the comic of the same name put out by Glen Danzig's Verotik publishing company, and it takes advantage of every resource available. The soundtrack is full of music by underground artists, and even features an unreleased song by Danzig himself. The makeup is well above average for an adult film, and also makes many of the horror movies I've seen look decidedly amateurish. The film began with a montage of stock footage and scenes from the film itself, which led into a quick interview with the GrubGirl herself, explaining what exactly happened to turn a regular girl into a zombie hooker. Whether you like zombie flicks, goth chicks, or just porn that is better than the standard, you should definitely watch GrubGirl.
