The story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family.
At the beginning of the movie, there was a friend with Michael that was also trying to get into the school. That boy is not shown again attending the school.
Leigh Anne Touhy:
There's a moment of orderly silence before a football play begins. Players are in position, linemen are frozen, and anything is possible. Then, like a traffic accident, stuff begins to randomly collide. From the snap of the ball to the snap of the ...
During the 1st dinner together, Michael heads to the dining table and sits alone. Sandra looks at him and you instantly know she's about to close the TV and that's the whole beauty of the scene. A little too convenient and mood breaker to put the remote exactly at her arm length, despite the fact that 3 other people, including two men, are sitting on the couches 2 meters away watching the game.
Family, school and sports photographs of the real Michael Oher and of the real Tuohy family are shown during the initial credits.
