The end credits begin as the song at the end of the film fades out. As the end credits roll up the screen, the sounds of military vehicles (helicopters, tanks, APCs, etc.) can be heard over the credits.
Screenwriter and Director Frank Darabont wanted the movie to be shown in black and white. Eventually it was filmed in color but a black and white version of the movie is on the 2-disc DVD release.
