A woman transformed into a giant after she is struck by a meteorite on her wedding day becomes part of a team of monsters sent in by the U.S. government to defeat an alien mastermind trying to take over Earth.
Invisible Man is dead in this film, but he appears in the short film, B.O.B.'s Big Break (2009), as that film took place way before this movie.
General W.R. Monger:
I'm not gonna kid you, Mr. President. These are dark times. The odds are against us. We need a Hail Mary pass! We need raw power! We need... monsters!
The list of songs in the closing credits includes, "Here Comes the Bride - Traditional". In fact, the title is "Bridal Chorus", and was written by composer Richard Wagner for the opera "Lohengrin".
During the closing credits, there is an additional scene in the War Room where the President prepares a latte for General Monger and pushes the wrong big red button. After hastily saying something about a contingency plan, he sticks his head seemingly out of the screen to address the audience: "Who wants to freeze my head?"
The film has a localized version in Australia where the News Reporter is not voiced by Ed Helms but instead by David Koch, a co-presenter of the morning show Sunrise (2002) seen on Channel 7 Australia-wide.
