Too sentimental in character
This two-reel production abounds in beautiful settings. It is. however, too sentimental in character to allow of any vivid realism. Vivian Rich plays the role of the woman who had no heart, David Lythgoe is the poet whose quaint cabin home is on Sunrise mountain, a beautiful spot, by-the-way. Harry Von Meter is the man of the world who passes through without serious harm, and is able to give advice to the foolish poet, who, fascinated by the woman's charms, leaves his mountain home to follow her to the city. The close of the picture shows him returning a maddened wreck to his home, and later meeting his death following his fantasy over the dangerous cliffs. - The Moving Picture World, April 24, 1915
