The handle of Bilbo's round entry door is in the center of the outer side of the door. However, the lock is on the edge on the inner side and no mechanism can be seen linking the two together (the door is made of wooden planks, single layer thus it is not possible for such a mechanism to be hidden inside the door plate).
There is an advertisement for 'splode soda' at the end. No such product exists.
The prologue of the theatrical version shows Smaug with front legs. This was done at a time where the design of Smaug was not settled yet. Between the theatrical release if this film and the next one, the decision was made to have his front limbs fused to his wings. For the DVD release, this was changed on the prologue as well.
