Follows the adventures of Aang, a young successor to a long line of Avatars, who must master all four elements and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom.
A scene involving the Kyoshi Warriors and the introduction of their leader Suki (Sokka's other love interest) was filmed but removed from the final cut, due to the director's belief that it was a separate story and would only distract from the movie's main storyline.

When the flying lemur jumps on Aang's shoulder, Aang's hands supposedly touch and pet the Lemur. But it is clear that the lemur is computer generated as Aang's hands do not actually touch the creature, they seem to hover about an inch or so above him.
The closing credits feature Aang, Katara and Zuko bending their respective elements of water, fire and air (no earth bending is demonstrated).
