Despite David Stanley's defense of his film in the BTS short subject, I found his argument and resulting feature unconvincing. If he meant to pen and shoot a paen to never giving up on love he failed miserably.
As a Mika Tan vehicle for Wicked Pictures it passes the minimum muster: sex by the lovely star and a peppy acting performance. But little else here succeeds. Stanley paints a maudlin picture of Chris Cannon moping around, after losing Mika a year earlier in a very soggily scripted form of XXX tear-jerker. He finally gets a sort of inverted Dear John letter from her a year after the break-up and we suffer through flashbacks and plenty of extraneous sex content en route to a cornball ending.
To say there is little chemistry between the leads is merely to fall into the current Porn Industry trap that chemistry is everything. The fault lies dear Brutus not in the leads but in their puppet master Dave.
His cliched dialog and formulaic scenes leading inevitably to a "Present Day' reunion are tiresome, and even Mika's bundle of energy overplaying her role overstays its welcome. Worst plot ploy has forlorn Chris wandering around, seeing happy couples making love out on the grass -a transparent excuse to thrown in more sex. It just makes manifest why a screenwriter like Stanley, for all of his porn industry rep, could not qualify for the mainstream -without the crutch of heavy dollops of XXX footage dished out periodically his films fall apart.
Contributing to the Adult content are Justine Joli and Jassie having sex in a restaurant, Roxy DeVille in a stupid on purpose television sex scene with a strangely shaved-head Talon, Faith Leon as another Cannon girlfriend convenienlty named Faith and sexy Jasmine Byrne as one of the outdoor love-makers, unfortunately paired with has-been Tony Tedeschi (how the mighty have fallen, a decade or two after his prime).
