The glasses that "Confident General - Desert " (Bernard Hill) wears on his cap are not of the model that was used by the German Army during WWII. They are clearly modeled on the ones worn by Rommel. Those however, were actually British and given to him by the captured British Major General Michael Gambier-Parry out of gratitude after Rommel returned the Major Generals officers cap that a German soldier had made off with.
