Following the death of his father, Britt Reid, heir to his father's large company, teams up with his late dad's assistant Kato to become a masked crime fighting team.
When Britt Reid and Kato first go out to vandalize the statue, their disguises closely resemble the costumes of the early incarnations of the Green Hornet and Kato of the film serials The Green Hornet (1940) and The Green Hornet Strikes Again! (1940).
Tell the Mayor, I'm insulted. I would never jeopardize the journalistic integrity of this newspaper for some rent-a-mayor's political agenda.
Jack Reid: So Britt, here we are again. Sent home after another schoolyard fight. I know you miss your mother. So do I...
When Kato and Britt are fighting in the pool house, Britt tumbles over the knight and knocks over the wooden weapon in his hand. The wooden weapon falls on the couch behind Kato. The camera changes from Kato to Britt and when it changes back to Kato, the weapon is gone.
