Frightening & Intense Scenes (15)

  • A lifeboats rope breaks and its occupants are thrown out.

  • The sinking scene is chaotic and dramatic. May be intense for some viewers.
  • Many dead bodies are shown bobbing in the water, including children.

  • We see the second torpedo hit the Gustloff's swimming pool where the female naval auxiliaries are being held, causing an explosion which floods and destroys it quickly. It is implied that they are all killed in a somewhat grusome fashion. Some might find the scene frightening or intense.
  • We see the body of a child who froze to death. The body is not gory, but the child's skin soon becomes pale, and it has been mentioned that the family had kept the child's body for days.

  • A woman mourns her 2 dead children, who are wrapped up in small body bags. The woman is clearly the same one who had her baby taken away, which implies that the baby died.

  • In one scene, see many people trapped inside the ship as it sinks to the bottom of the sea. It is implied that they drown. The scene is very nerve-racking and claustrophobic.
  • We see fighter planes open fire on a tugboat full of civilians. We don't see any casualties ensue, but the scene is intense nonetheless.
