Movie with a social message

"Pattabiraman " Malayalam movie

'Iyer the great' is the tag line of this work. Good at heart, efficient, non-corrupt, workaholic heath inspector getting posted in the capital city, to clean up the murk in the food industry and system... is the one line story. Jayaram different from his style, is shown as more mature and responsible. Comical interludes are taken care by Dharman and Hareesh. Food materials sold with poisonous substitutes and admixtures, causing problems in personal and social life of the human beings.. is explained well, holding a social message through the movie. First half is purely food based, second half turns into a crime-murder-food mafia thriller. Very predictable, still enjoyable.

6.5 on 10 for a presentation with a social message.

'One person's food can be another person's poison' is the dictum, where the mafia poison your food, for their luxurious lifestyles... You eat that toxin to waste the life. Even top brands in the market is not spared in this movie.

Needed more punch, from the regular sentiments, to drive in the social message.

A movie which gives a social message and a must watch for Keralites!

This movie gives not only a social message but also some good suspenses and comedies.The first half goes with a build up story and a small twist in its interval.The second half has worked in all the portions with suspenses.The intro song are also good.Although, jayaram movies are coming as entertainers nowadays.

A surprise serving of novelty from the Thamarakkulam-Jayaram combo after years, Pattabhiraman (English: given Tamil-origin name) touches upon the important topic of food security in restaurants and food factories and uses a delectable container (of a scrupulous health inspector with an aspiration to crack down on all illegal food joints) to make its point but then in the final 40 minutes takes such a virulent turn it goes back to the slipshod territory that everyone one in Malayalam cinema has said goodbye to long back except Kannan Thamarakkulam and Jayaram. Brownie points for pairing Jayaram with an age-appropriate actress like Sheel Abraham. TN.

Disappointed super lag movie. But its contain a good message to all people. still i didn't like the making of this movie. old comedy and "miya's character worst".

It's a true condition happiness around the world, and one of the biggest unknown dangerous thing happens around us. The story was really astonishing also direction at the peek. The music and casting is the only stepback of movie. Overall it's good socially relevant movie.

Wonder where all these 10/10 stars are coming from. No comedy, unnecessary dialogues and characters and a very monotonous boring storyline. Most parts of the movie were self contradictory, it hurt itself so I don't have to add salt to that wound. 2 stars for effort.

One of a most boring movie. Wasted the acting of Jayaram by the maker. Irrelevant story, derived from another movie Velaikkaran. But lot of facts are missing in this movie. Easily predictable screenplay is another drawback of this feature film.

This movie is the usual good man hero trying to fight injustice on its own. The hero is so in the rock age that he doesnt accept a girl because she wears lipstick and make up. So he ends up marrying someone who doesnt do that and good at cooking. On his fight as a health inspector to contain malpractices he ends up in a fight with the " good image" villain who does charity like karamana janardhanan in Pattanapravesham.

Overall a horrible attempt with an attempt at glory in bringing up documentary injustice stuff into screen. What would be the next a one man fight against land mafia?

Jayaram movies are the same old story, same old acting style, same old song & dance, same old action scenes, same old climax style and same old endings. I believe its been more than a decade since i saw Jayaram movies with a change. Though he is one of the most decent and talented actor in the Industry, its been a long time since he changed according to the trends.

• Dialogues are really poor. Comedies are not funny or enjoyable.
• Compared to first half, I liked the second half better where story unfolds better.
• Final Verdict: You can watch the movie for the message, but keep your expectations low.

I sat through this movie as I was cooking. I cut the meat, onions, ground the spices etc. Then finished cooking, cleaned all the dishes. The movie was on in the background. And the way it was written, it didn't need even 1% of my brain or attention to follow the nonsense that was on show. Horrible movie and a half-baked script. Wonder why Jayaram keeps doing this sort of rubbish movies. The message was good, but the script went all over the place. Overall, a dumb movie.
