Wow, Brendan Sheppard has really excelled here. This is a very assured and accomplished DVD extra from someone who seems to have mastered his brief very very quickly. Let's face it, before the arrival of Sheppard and Phoenix on the scene the Doctor Who DVD range and its extras was, well, moribund. Every extra was interchangeable with each other and there was a certain sameness with them all. Sheppard has changed all that by producing excellent work which is made totally accessible to new and old fan alike and that is incredibly important especially as engaging with new fans was something the release range was struggling to do for a long time.
So here we have a sharp, fast paced, well observed DVD extra which really adds to the story and makes you feel a part of something that was shown 24 years ago.
Well done Brendan and well done to all concerned.
