  • Sneakerella is a good example of Disney recycling a Cinderella story but make it an easily forgettable kids film. Sure, it's not the worst Disney Plus movie with some good editing that upgrades from television and an engaging concept of a movie about designing shoes. But the fact this is made from Disney Channel, the execution was pretty poor due to its dull and predictable story. The humor is weak. The characters are bland. And the songs are more they belong on the radio than a movie. This could be a good option just to give an inspiration of designing new shoes probably for the new generation. Even so, I can't recommend this movie much. This is another example of a poorly made Cinderella story we've seen many times before and it's not really worth your time. It would've had better ways to make this enjoyable as a movie about shoe designs. But for what it is as Disney Channel's quantity over quality of making films, it's just another recycled Disney movie. Disney Plus, come on.
  • I have seen many different takes on the Cinderella story and the most recent version I saw was Cinderella (2021) starring Camila Cabello, which I thought was laughably bad. So, I was not expecting much with this modern twist of the story, but I tried to keep an open mind.

The acting was surprisingly good, like Chosen Jacobs as the main character El he was good in the movie, and I liked the character he plays as an inspired Sneaker designer. I liked the creative Sneaker designs he made, and I liked seeing him create the Sneakers from scratch with his own ideas.

The songs are good, and the dance chorography was good. There are nice looking camera shots of New York or Queens that were nice to look at, and there were nice looking visuals of the Sneaker designs popping off the page of his sketches.

The romance was cute, and I was invested enough in the main story. Some people might like it and some people might not, but I think you can enjoy it for what it is doing and what twist it brings to the Cinderella story.

    Kicks
An updated, musical version of cinderella where slippers are replaced with sneakers and an aspiring artist as the main character. Though it slows in the middle a little, it's an entertaining revamp with heavy forgiveness and belief themes.
  • It was very boring surprisingly. After the trailer, I expected unbelievable movie that was a fun watch, instead it was boring, a one and done watch.

It's about a guys who created "fly" sneakers and the sneaker king needs to find this man, for sneaker cons and his daughter is the royalty looking for the humble ghetto urban sneaker creator.

I cannot believe I wrote the above but yeah.

This was a musical, with awful tuned music and terrible dance scenes. It was bad.

The acting....was terrible, and not "Trolls 2" terrible where you can have a good time, just bad.

Plot was as above, bad and boring. It's like instead of doing something unbelievably god awful that you can have a good time making fun of it, they fell short and created something boring and terrible.

Thee trailer was more hilariously bad than the actual movie.

    Lol
Lol it's so bad. Bad bad bad. Disney did these actors dirty. And who wrote the music, an 11 year old?

I have nothing more to say. This review just needs to be 150 characters.

Some things do not need to be rebooted or changed- we have gone through multiple Cinderella films and I am happy to say the majority was quite good; even the Camilla Cabello one was alright. If you truly feel that a film about trainers would be a good one then do it for all I care just don't try and drag down Cinderella with you. I've seen a lot of terrible Disney films but this one is just too much- it's not even one of those films that are so bad you can laugh about it's just absolutely awful in so many ways. This may seem strong but you can watch the film and see what an utter disaster and disappointment this is.
  • Not that I'm any kind of a true critic but I try to view these movies out of the eyes of my children and when they find it entertaining and they laugh a little while hearing some fun music then it makes the family watch list.

I saw a lot of harsh ratings on this movie, but from my daughters lenses (and they are seven and eight) it's a cute musical and a different spin on a classic. It will never be a classic and as long as you realize that then you will enjoy it.

    Have fun.
  • More like Aladdin. This movie from the beginning shows a male riffraff who meets a princess in disguise. The (riffraff) then shows her around his humble home, where she takes in the common life. He becomes in love with her at first sight. He takes her on a tour of the scenes she never saw before from different heights (views). She is then summoned by the hierarchy and he to his mundane life, she leaves in a limo (chariot). Only thing connecting this to Cinderella is the shoes, not a shoe, well that and the step-brothers instead of sisters, and an overbearing step-parent.
  • This movie to me hits the spot it's intended to hit. Yes it's corny, yes it's cheesy but is it a movie a dad could watch with his kids and enjoy a little for himself? Absolutely.
  • If you though The Human Centipede was a low as we could sink coming up with film concepts, think again.

Really scraping the barrel now. Creativity is clearly dead in the modern age.

I've been waiting forever for someone from the Youtube/Internet generation to come along and create something new and exciting that takes everything they have and make something never seen before. But it turns out that all this technology and connected-ness has just left creative people stuck inside a meme culture of repetition, unable to think of any original ideas of their own.

It's going to take a hermit with no Wi-Fi to create the next big thing. I hope they're out there somewhere.

Sneakerella? Really? Who pitched this with a straight face? That's a movie I want to see.
  • I really love the movie..beautiful actors and good acting..but I got tired of most of the songs..but the movie is nice..finally a Cinderella movie where the guy gets to be Cinderella.
  • The reviews seem very harsh for your average family movie time film. It's not perfect, the music was a little unnecessary, but I'm my opinion it was creative, the visuals such as all the colors made you happy, and for artists it left you wanting to create something yourself. So out of all the cute basic films to put on, and maybe if you had a family of all different ages (like young children, teens, etc), maybe I'd watch it again when I start to forget the elements. Because it's just a fun time.
  • This was as bad as Mile Morales Spider-Thor. Sneakerralla we always got to be about sneakers.... And other stereotypical thing. You know that's Disney now days nothing that actually connects with the people just bad stereotypes. If you notice all the bot accounts that are 10 especially like from April all them bots.

The only people giving this a 10/10 are people who want desperately to see a black main character, and that's the truth. Everything about this movie was cheesy and not in a good way. Sorry, you can't outdo the doer, and Disney once again butchered their new take on a classic, as they have no more creativity. They serve kids a sloppy script and expect them to be fine with it, but even children deserve more than a half-ass movie. As long as they include a diverse cast, they think people will love their new movies. WRONG. Stop worrying about race and maybe hire great actors, and give them a unique plot to deal with. I mean, Sneakerella, really??

  • It was a great watch. Songs were good and so were the actors.

The teen love story was believable. I believed all the actors' delivery. The stepbrothers were good at being bad stepbrothers. They were especially funny at the end when they did their song of them being bad.

The sneaker was aight...I did like how he put a miniature cityscape in the bottom... I can see this being a custom feature where one could pick what they want to display in the bottom of one's sneaker-I digress. I even teared up when El was singing about he and his mother's relationship and what she taught him.

I like the faces I saw and the characters they played in this re-telling story of Cinderella.

Yes, it's a re-telling of Cinderella. I can't wait to see the re-telling /rendition of "Oliver" with Ice Cube as Fagin (if that's still happening).

Regarding the bad reviews- to each their own. Of course, see it for yourself and you decide.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Snearkerella is a 2022 Disney Plus Exclusive musical comedy starring Chosen Jacobs,Lexi Underwood and Kolton Stewart. Directed by Elizabeth Allen(who directed Aquamarine) this is another retelling of Cinderella(after the abomination of Camila Cabello's Cinderella) and tells the tale of a young shoemaker named Eli(Jacobs) who dreams of becoming big with his shoe designs. Things take a turn when he meets a young woman named Kira King and becomes smitten with her. Little does he know is that Kira is the daughter of a rich tycoon.

Will he win her over at the Gala?. Overall I enjoyed this film. The songs are hip hop but they work in this rendition. Also I love how they added that song A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes from the original Cinderella film.

If you love Rags(which was the 1st male Cinderella film without counting Jerry Lewis's Cinderfella) then check it out.
  • Finally, a movie about the black male. We never really get the fairy tales and it is marred here with negative reviews. I love this movie. I love the concept, theme and visuals. If you have not watched, then give it a chance.

    Warning: Spoilers
I myself didn't enjoy this movie as much as an adult. Maybe it would be good for young kids or tweens. The story was also uneven and didn't make sense. So the princess has to find a designer to make her a shoe to impress her father but then he ends up finding her, not the other way around. Then she loses him and posts a pic on Insta to find him again? Sorry this was just stupid to me. I loved Gustavo's song the best, all of the other songs were unimportant to me. I did like this movie but just didn't love it.
  • Warning: Spoilers
For kids this might be cute, but we already know the story, it's nothing new and it is just to much in one movie.

So many effects and it looks terrible and yeah Cinderella has her blue fairy but that doesn't mean that we need magic everywhere every second it doesn't help the movie at all.

The songs where okay but didn't give add anything really to the movie, so sorry but this isn't your best job.
  • There have been many Cinderella remakes but this one is by far a favorite. So many people hate to see black kids in a good light. Too bad, too sad! The cast was beautiful! The songs were catchy, the hair styles and costumes were stunning. I loved how in depth they went when showing him reminiscing about his mother who passed away. Glad that my kids finally get some representation. Usually in these types of movies when they make the main character black the love interest is usually white to satisfy those who can't stand seeing people of color happy and in love. This movie actually showed black love. Good job Disney!
  • The movie is incredible! Reminded me of Disney classic in the way it makes you feel, the inspiring messages, the storyline, the values, and how it leaves you grinning and foolishly smiling for hours after watching. Such a lasting impact! I love how they beautifully made the twist to Cinderella's story, there have been many previous attempts but I believe this is the most successful one. They adapted it very nicely and the details are extremely creative. I love the appreciation for Queens culture and integrating that into the movie. Honestly it was one of the greatest new Disney movies that I have seen for a while!
  • I went in expecting a movie so bad I might turn it off and was VERY pleasantly surprised. It was cute and fun and sometimes dumb but I've seen way worse. It's a kid movie, so keep that in mind, but it's a kid movie worth watching.
  • I don't agree with all the bad reviews. I appreciated this film for the artistry, dance and music. Sure it's a cheesy remix of a classic story, but if you don't expect a fairytale then you won't be disappointed.

I thought it was great! Loosley based on Cinderella! Watched it multiple times already! Music and the cast is great! Very surprised at the low rating. Loved the step brothers!
