Cornpone crap
A poster child for what dragged down previously luminous distributor Adam & Eve a decade ago, director Daniel Dakota, along with his untalented collaborator writer Mark Dawop, perpetrated this irritating feature about that corniest of movie plots: the small-town girl who heads from the sticks to Hollywood to become a star.
She's played, sort of, by a particularly wooden actress Sophia Lynn, previously featured in Dakota's crummy porn-parody "Pulp Friction". Lynn is reunited from that stinker with co-star Evan Stone, whose attempts at slapstick are horrible, and who affects a very phony Southern accent, even though in real-life he originally hails from Texas.
Our heroine is quickly fed up with hubby Stone and heads for the open road in her Jeep, courtesy of Green Screen photography. Director Dakota later uses some more poor process photography for a romantic balcony scene in Hollywood, lousy technique at its lousiest.
In La La Land the show devolves into mindless satire of Hollywood, unfunny and merely stupid. Chief offender, directed on way too long a leash, is Steven St. Croix parodying Tom Cruise with a forced laugh and amateur-night face-pulling. Some sexy femmes like Jenaveve Jolie and Vanessa Lane beef up the XXX content, but the brain-dead movie remains lifeless for over 2 hours, culminating in a terrible ending from that "it was all a dream" refuge of scoundrels.
