[describing how she would pack up the car with all Ken's stage equipment and costumes after a show]
Anne Dodd: By the time we'd done all the packing up to get away from the theatre, to be quite honest, it could be two hours after you've come off stage. Occasionally, loading the car in the pouring rain or snow. And I'd climb on a little stool to put it all... the bits that go in the roof. And I do - and this is absolutely true - in recent years, I remember thinking "Oh, my goodness, what am I doing? I'm old enough to be retired. I shouldn't be doing this. And he's well into retirement age." And then I'd think. "One of these days, I won't be doing this and I'll miss it."
