  • A leading Euro porn director at the turn of this century, Antonio Adamo's formula is fading fast in this 2-part movie "Mata Hari". I'm reviewing Part 2 which has a title of "Sex Is Not Enough" displayed on screen, as the first part is no longer available (except as an overpriced $90 DVD for collectors).

Adamo promises spy action but all we get is his mechanical sex scenes, in which the beautiful actresses (mostly from Hungary) stare relentlessly at the camera in a counter-productive manner. A helpful recap of the Part 1 action features a lovely location shoot involving a remote site and long foot-bridge, but nothing comparably of visual interest is saved for Part 2.

Katy Caro is striking, even with too much eye makeup applied, as Greta, the Mata Hari of the title. She's a double-dealer, stealing a water sample from the Fountain of Youth, with which she blackmails the bad guy William Fox played by Euro stalwart Horst Baron, asking $1,000,000 to not divulge its location and let him exploit it. Caro ends up with the cash and delivers the sample to Nick Lang while her partner in skulduggery Marco Banderas gets killed, but not until he's performed his sex scene.

Sharing the spotlight is a big name from the period Claudia Rossi, as another spy hired by Baron to thwart Caro's activities. She fails but not before delivering two hot sex scenes. Actors articulate in English for the international porn audience, but are dubbed with poor post-syncing and in Rossi's case a choice of a stupid, high-pitched voice.

Others walking through this deadly dull movie include Baron's confederate David Perry, Rossi's pony-tailed boss Zenza Raggi, and most active bad guy Frank Gun. Gun gets to interrogate and hump busty brunette Cindy Lords, cast as Caro's close friend, and several other beauties appear in a group sex scene at a night club, completely extraneous sex filler that includes interracial action courtesy of Kid Jamaica.

Other than staring at Caro's beautiful pink nipples, I was bored out of my gourd, and certainly loath to plunking down 90 smackers in order to see more of the same plus a foot bridge. Adamo's ending to Part 2 is really poor, hardly worth waiting for.
