20 Cartoon Network Shows You Forgot Existed
Image
Cartoon Network has produced some of the most iconic animated series on TV, but there are plenty of shows in the network's catalog that audiences have forgotten existed. Few would doubt Cartoon Network's impact on entertainment or the channel's innovation in developing original programming. Yet, whether they aired on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, DC Nation or Toonami, countless shows slipped through the cracks but still helped shape the network's unique identity as a cultural touchstone.

Cartoon Network, also known as Cn, first debuted in 1992 after being founded by Betty Cohen and Ted Turner. Initially focused on animation, the channel showcased classic and new cartoons, hitting its stride throughout the '90s. Over the years, it produced memorable shows like The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time and Ben 10, cementing its place in pop culture. Now part of Warner Bros. Discovery and consisting of multiple channels, Cartoon Network continues to honor its past while embracing its future,...

The Animation Guild Attempts Expansion Into Texas With Latest Organizing Drive
Image
The Animation Guild is attempting an expansion into the Lone Star State.

The IATSE Local is seeking to organize around 137 workers at Powerhouse Animation Studios, the Castlevania and Masters of the Universe: Revelation producer based in Austin, it announced on Monday. This group of workers, which consists primarily of artists and some production workers, requested voluntary recognition from management and filed for a National Labor Relations Board election on Monday.

While The Animation Guild has been unionizing animation studios outside of L.A. County since 2022, the Powerhouse Animation Studios drive is Tag’s first in a so-called “right-to-work” state, according to the union. (Texas has a right-to-work law in effect, which prohibit union-security agreements that require employees in a bargaining unit to join a union and/or pay union dues.) The unionization effort is the guild’s third outside of L.A. County, with its two previous efforts taking...
