This guy is all hat, no cattle. The audience seems artificially hyped to get the viewers interested. He never says anything funny. I couldn't watch the whole thing, what a mess.
I discovered jo koy during pandemic, that's where I discovered how great stand up comedy is. Up to now I follow him.
For those haters out there, we don't believe your hate and fake comments. The people have spoken we love jo koy and we can relate. Tell those comments to sold out arenas and Steven Spielberg liking this special.

Covid jokes = cringe
Paid actors in the front for his joke. I like Jo koi but this was one of the worst stand ups ever. Laughed twice, force laughs and not even laughs maybe a chuckle. I wish I never seen the special because it made me think he lost it. Maybe all he had was making fun of his mom raising him and child. This will be the last time I watch one of his stand ups and I'm glad I didn't see his movie. Because if this shows where he is at in comedy then I rather move on and just remember the laughs I had from his previous specials. Thanks for trying but maybe you should get a writer now.

Breaking is when a performer breaks character and in Jokoy's case he just kept laughing and giggling throughout jokes. Jokes were alright but would've been more impactful if (a) the crowd didn't just laugh blindly at everything, every word every phrase, even a lead-in when there's not even a pubchline and (b) it Jokoy's delivery was sharper, like Ali Wong...
I thoroughly enjoy the stand-up comedy shows from Jo Koy, and I am glad to see that he still has his edge with this 2019 performance in "Jo Koy: Comin' in Hot".
If you aren't already familiar with the stand-up acts of Jo Koy from previous shows, then I can warmly recommend that you take the time to get familiar with his performances and watch the shows, because this guy is hilarious. Not only is he funny, but he also has a great on stage performance and he has some nice things to talk about in his shows.
I enjoy how he always includes his mother and the Filipinos in his stand-up shows. And when he brought in more Asian types in "Jo Koy: Comin' in Hot" it was just brilliant, and he nailed their mannerisms and ways of talking so well.
"Jo Koy: Comin' in Hot" was enjoyable from start to end, and is very enjoyable even if you are not already familiar with this stand-up comedian guy.
