Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock appeared together in 2018’s heist comedy movie Ocean’s 8 directed by Gary Ross. The movie was the fourth installment and a spin-off from Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s series. The ensemble cast also included Mindy Kaling, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina alongside Hathaway and Bullock.
The power-packed female-led movie received a positive response from the audience upon its release. It was however stated at the time that the movie wasn’t as smooth as its predecessors but the cast and their chemistry together blended well enough for the audience to enjoy. During the promotion of Ocean’8, the cast came across a host whose comments sickened the actresses.

There’ll be some happy holidays on Prime Video in December, as the streamer’s seasonal offerings hope to keep the fires warm in your home this month!
As such, there are quite a few new original holiday movies coming to the service. At the beginning of the month, Eddie Murphy stars in Candy Cane Lane. In this film, the Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America star plays a determined man who is willing to go above and beyond to win the annual Christmas home decoration contest in his neighborhood – even if it means making a very magical deal.
The DC universe will also be getting festive in December thanks to Merry Little Batman, an animated feature that sees Batman’s son, Damian Wayne, stumble upon a villainous plot on Christmas eve, one that may give him a chance to save the day when his dad isn’t around.

Some might say they don’t want a lot for Christmas, but who’s going to turn down a Christmas movie starring rapper-actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and comedian Lil Rel Howery?
Directed by Tim Story, and produced by Will Packer’s Will Packer Productions, comes the comedic fantasy film “Dashing Through the Snow,” which carries the title of the classic Christmas jingle “Dashing Through the Snow (Jingle Bells).”
In the lighthearted tale, Bridges stars as Eddie Garrick, a social worker who no longer believes in the magic of Christmas due to a traumatic childhood experience. But, with the help of his Christmas-loving daughter Charlotte (Madison Skye Validum) and good ol’ Saint Nick — who just goes by Nick (Lil Rel Howery) — the group is on a mission to restore Eddie’s faith in Christmas while evading wicked politician Conrad Harf (Oscar Nuñez).

Ryan Reynolds was born in Canada and started acting at a young age, landing a role on a teenage soap opera. He then proceeded to work in both Canadian and American television, ultimately finding minor fame on the moderately successful ABC sitcom “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.”
Movies followed with the low end of “Buying the Cow,” then a remake of “The In-Laws” and into bigger successes in “Blade: Trinity,” “Definitely Maybe,” and “Adventureland.” His career went into high gear by being cast as “Green Lantern” and starring opposite Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal.”
Reynolds managed to pull off the unthinkable in 2016 when he managed to get a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy/Musical Actor for “Deadpool.” The film had incredible box office returns, but it’s a rare achievement for a superhero role to bring major awards attention.

The beach has always appealed to Kelvin Yu. Having grown up in Palos Verdes before eventually settling in Santa Monica with his wife and two young children, he’s rarely lived far from it. This proximity has allowed him to become a deft surfer, though he’s too modest to call himself one. “I’m not incredibly proficient, but I have been doing it for about 30 years,” says Yu, 43, who often starts his days on the water. “It’s just a meditative exercise in multitasking where I can get a little quiet time.”
Yu’s professional multitasking is less solitary. He serves as an executive producer on Fox’s long-running animated series Bob’s Burgers, still takes for-hire onscreen roles (Master of None, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Afterparty) and recently completed a labor of love by showrunning an adaptation of cult graphic novel American Born Chinese. Actor Sandra Bullock has made as much o af name for herself doing action movies and dramas as she has with comedies. When it came to ranking the genres’ difficulty level, Bullock felt comedies were much harder.

Starring in dramas has often rewarded Bullock with high critical praise and accolades. She’s stood out in movies like Gravity and Crash, and once won an Oscar for Best Actress for The Blind Side. But her comedy films have been as equally kind to the star. She’s had success off the backs of lighter flicks like The Proposal and Miss Congeniality, both being some of her most popular works.

Ryan Reynolds, a full-time K-Pop stan and occasional actor, has decided to dip his toes into the wonderful world of boybands. Gone are his days of admiring the artform from afar, as Reynolds is now attached to star in and produce "Boy Band," an upcoming comedy from Paramount. Reynolds penned the script with co-writer Jesse Andrews and will also reunite with frequent collaborator Shawn Levy.
Clearly, Levy and Reynolds are creatively infatuated — or just really good friends. The duo has made a habit of working together with Levy directing the actor in "Free Guy," "The Adam Project," "Deadpool 3" and potentially, "Boy Band." Per The Hollywood Reporter, the film is a potential directing venture for Levy but only if the timing works for his already jam-packed schedule. The two of them are currently in prep for "Deadpool 3," and Levy also has the upcoming season of "Stranger Things" on the near horizon.

"Bob's Burgers" has been serving up burgers of the day, family hijinks, and wonderful Wonder Wharf weirdness for 13 seasons and counting. Over the years since it first premiered, the show has kept fans coming back for more with its endearing characters, witty writing, and deft ability to navigate silliness and sentimentality at the same time. The show has also established the yearly tradition of airing some of the best holiday specials in television, with its cheerful Christmas romps, playfully spooky Halloween stories, and the turkey-based madness of Thanksgiving. But the holiday festivities don't end with the big three! Though they don't do it every year, the show also occasionally decides to feel the love with a Valentine's Day episode.

Today, Paramount+ has released a new trailer for the romantic comedy "At Midnight." The film stars Monica Barbaro ("Top Gun: Maverick") as a young movie star named Sophie who catches her actor boyfriend Adam (Anders Holm from "Workaholics") cheating while they shoot a film. He's the big name, and she isn't, so keeping this quiet is important for her career. While she nurses a broken heart, she (quite literally) runs into the hotel manager Alejandro (Diego Boneta from "Father of the Bride"), and sparks begin to fly.
To keep it all quiet, as the cast resides at Alejandro's hotel, Sophie and Alejandro secretly meet at midnight for dates. Of course, they begin falling for each other, and of course, the old flame starts looking to get back together. It's coming out on the streaming service just in time for Valentine's Day from writer/director Jonah Feingold. It also stars Whitney Cummings...

The first is a six-episode series that will follow the real life case of murders at UCLA, while the latter two will both present several different stories.

Even though we were right in the heart of Beverly Hills for last night’s American Cinematheque Awards tribute to Ryan Reynolds, you would be forgiven if you thought somehow you had been transported from the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom to Canada. Judging from these proceedings, Reynolds just may be the hottest import ever to come across the border.

While chatting with New York Times-bestselling author Jasmine Guillory about her latest novel, the recent big-screen rom-com "The Lost City" comes up. In the film, Sandra Bullock's character is a successful romance novelist but harbors some resentment toward the genre in which she's built her career. She diminishes her dedicated readers with stereotypes, only to be reminded by her cover model, played by Channing Tatum, "Don't minimize the people that love your work by calling it schluck; that's not fair to them. . . . I thought you of all people would know to not judge a book by its cover." When we chatted, I'd recently watched the movie (though Guillory hadn't yet streamed it), and the moment struck me, as a fan of romance and someone who has long hated when contemporary literature is likened to chick lit. I...

It took almost 30 years and a little bit of magic to deliver Hocus Pocus 2. The original film, released in 1993, wasn’t a hit with audiences or critics, and it’s believed that the film may have lost about 16.5 million in its original theatrical run. However, through positive word of mouth and annual screenings on the Disney Channel and Freeform (formerly ABC Family), Hocus Pocus eventually caught on with the audiences that mattered and became a solid home video grosser for the House of Mouse. With legacy sequels en vogue and nostalgia constantly mined by the big studios, Poof, production began on Hocus Pocus 2.
The original film centered on the Sanderson Sisters, three Salem witches condemned to death in 1693 after they drained the life force of a young girl and cursed her brother to live an eternity as a black cat. Before their execution, the witches cast a curse...

Plot: It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.
Review: For three decades, fans have clamored for a sequel to Hocus Pocus. The Disney film has maintained a cult following thanks to a cheeky blend of humor and scares appropriate for all ages. While a sequel was released in the form of a 2018 novel that directly followed the plot and characters of the original movie, it took until now for Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy to reunite on screen as the Sanderson Sisters. Under the direction of Anne Fletcher, Hocus Pocus 2 was guaranteed to be a hit this Halloween season regardless of the quality of the film.

What strange sorcery is this that “Hocus Pocus” — a so-so comedy turned campy cult favorite starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as absolutely fabulous Salem witch sisters — should be getting a sequel nearly three decades after its 1993 release? At the time, Variety speculated that, were it not for the film’s three stars, “‘Hocus Pocus’ wouldn’t seem out of place on the Disney Channel, and perhaps belongs there.” In a sense, that’s what’s happened with this follow-up, aimed to breathe some life into the graveyard that is Disney+.
The sequel’s existence owes less to popular demand (the original earned a respectable 39.3 million stateside and went on to become a Halloween season staple) than to the realization that the film had tapped into preteens’ fascination with witchcraft before Harry Potter came along. It can be no coincidence that the new feature lifts so much...
