Simply put, this TV series is a master-piece in almost every level. Brilliant script by Nikola Pejakovic and wonderful and deeply emotional acting made this an unforgettable experience. Understanding this TV series as some sort of Crime and Punishment story is quite simplified interpretation. From the very beginning to the very end, the authors brought us everlasting combat between good and evil which happens inside every person and inside their surroundings. This is no pathetic conflict given in black-and-white terms, but fighting with deeply religious and emotional context. One of the main characters in this TV series, Kosta Gajic, smiled only once. His smile came as a result of his redemption, not punishment. Fundamentally, this is a story about redemption and salvation. Some people cannot be saved, but the local priest Dragan leads his silent and persistent struggle for the souls of people and for the sake of his own family. There are many faces of evil in this TV series. The character of Englez personifies demon itself, but evil inside men often seems far more worse.
