  • I love it, very nice story. It's worth watching, hopefully they get the second season out.
  • Each kid is unique & strong in their own way. Working together as a team they find support in each other.
  • Brilliant young players! Nice music! Special thanks for scenario - very important topics of the youth. All parents must watch! The character of Sinan is fantastic! Bravo!

Rare case when season 2 is not worse than the start!
  • When I started this series, I tried to stay away from my prejudices. At first, the series looked very cliche to me. But I kept watching. And from episode 2, the series became addictive: I couldn't stop watching. We were shown the traumas, mental illnesses and sufferings that made "bad children" bad. Sinan, who is abandoned by his family, Osman, who tries to prove himself to his father, Kerem, who shows is tired of living according to his rich and famous father's expectations, insecure Eda who is headed towards anorexia, and Ishik, "the good girl" who wants to be able to make a mistake. They decide to make their reachers fall in love in order to protect themselves, but the group has to face their own feelings. It is very enjoyable to watch the transformation of children from problematic bullies that we try to stay away from in high school, to their emotional, sensitive and fragile personalities. Not only children, but adults also can get confused, we see that too. And what we understand at the end of the story is: we have only one person to make proud and satisfied - ourselves, the rest is not important. Unless we satisfy ourselves, our life has no meaning.

Not to mention the success of the actors. Especially Sinan, who can make us feel all his emotions with his eyes and mimics, and Osman, who reflects his exhaustion from trying to look strong all the time. And of course, Necdet, who perfectly managed to make us hate him. Another important point - the choice of music. Whoever chose the soundtrack gets 11/10 from me! It is a perfect harmony, the songs are also extremely beautiful! One of the most beautiful series I have watched, I am very curious how it will continue. Thanks Netflix and Ay Yapim.

Okay. It's 5 in the morning, and I just finished watching Love 101. Let me tell you: I am completely blown away. At first I was skeptical, since every Turkish TV show is known to be a complete disaster and a big old cliche. I expected nothing more than a mediocre love story and some very dramatic scenes that make you cringe. Oh boy was I wrong. This show is the epitome of an emotional roller coaster. This show portrays a story about friendship, love, self-acceptance, change, rebellion, defying standards, life, pain, true happiness and sorrow, all in one, that simply takes your breath away. At one moment you're laughing out loud and the next moment your eyes are filling up with tears. It is genuinely funny and heartwarming, and at the same time extremely melancholic. It is also very clever, amazing writing, and manages to stay quite original. The cast is just perfect; the way they manage to bring this beautiful story to life is simply fascinating. A bonus are some stunning shots of one of the most beautiful cities in the world- Istanbul. This show is definitely worth your time, and you won't regret watching it. To summarize, I can say that this show is a Turkish masterpiece. They've officially outdone themselves. Now if you'll excuse me... I'm going to sleep. And thank you, to the creators, to the cast and everyone involved. This show is a nothing less than a blessing.

The scenario was a little simple but It's good movie
  • I had no expectations going into this drama, and was pleasantly surprised. What looked like a simple romantic comedy from the synopsis, turned out to be a good example of a coming-of-age story, like a more feel-good Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The characters were not particularly likable, some of their actions were questionable, some of their morals seemed twisted and till the end they show no remorse for their wrongdoings. However, like Burcu teacher said, each of them is a different world. They all have their own struggles, and in the end they just wanna stay true to themselves and to each other. They fight together against the hypocrite world. The show very nicely depicted that teenage feeling that you can be anything, do anything, and the whole world is at your feet.

Some other things that I enjoyed a lot was the love line between the teacher and the coach, it was exciting to watch how their relationship blossomed, orchestrated by the kids. No matter how their actions may have seemed manipulative, it was the teachers that made all decisions for themselves in the end.

Finally, the shining star of the show is Mert Yazicioglu, who portrayed Sinan. His eyes could speak louder than words, he really stole every scene he was in.

All the yummy Turkish food in each episode was a great bonus, made my mouth water for sure.

Ask 101 (Love 101) is the 3rd Netflix Turkey production. It's a youth series based in Istanbul in 98. Very entertaining to watch indeed. I have finished the whole season in one day. Can't wait for the second season to come. Nice casting, loved the soundtracks, great locations. Watch it and discover Turkish youth of the late 90's and Istanbul of course. Tesekkürler!

As a Turkish person who was born in the 90s, I listened to the songs I used to listen everyday when I was a teenager. Whoever chose the soundtrack is a wizard.
  • Only good thing about this show is Mert Yazicioglu. His character is good. His acting is amazing but the show is so simple. Other characters are so overrated. Sinan is the one who is closest to reality. You do wanna know more about him but I can't say the same for others. Also behaviors of teachers are so hilarious and far from the reality.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Osman is not gay! Do you read that ladies and gentlemen? The long speculated character named Osman cannot possibly be gay as it was portrayed in the first season. And finally after 12 episodes we see that he is not! What a waste of episodes just to prove one character conforms with the social norms and censorship. FYI you can enjoy another, alternative series named "Sex Education" where everyone can express their sexuality openly and freely.
  • One thing i know for sure: this show hits different when you actually live with trauma.any kind of trauma. IT BREAKS YOUR HEART. it revolves around a lot of topics and issues such as self love, childhood trauma, abandonment issues. It s kind of a old school drama if you wach it straight in the face, but if you feel things at a deeper level, you'll understand sooooooo much more.

I watch a lot of tv shows, a ridiculous amount. But this was perfect in every way, I didn't want it to end. You can feel the love that the characters have for each other. They make you laugh, they make you cry, you become invested in their lives, but mystery still exists. The messages in the show are so simple yet so beautiful; "Accept yourself, and recognise your own worth. Don't care too much about what people think of you, only you know who you really are. You're the only you. You're worthy of love. Please don't forget that."

This is my first Turkish show that I've seen on netflix & would highly recommend. Looking forward to a second season.
  • The storyline is pretty engaging and acting is overall good - especially of the students and the vice principal. There may be some scenes that make completely no sense but I think that's ok as long as you keep your expectations down for a highschool drama. The dialogues are also mostly natural, they don't stand out for being overstated which I believe was the main issue of Atiye and the Protector. However, I'm disappointed by hair and costumes since there seems to be no effort at all to make people actually look like they're from the 90's. As for the music, this show has probably the most superficial soundtrack I've ever seen, I wish they had kept it low-key rather than using every good song they know.
  • Actually i haven't any expectations about Love 101 but this show was not bad against my thoughts. Netflix Turkey not perfect now but Love 101 good for improvement. Kinda classic topic but whatever i like this show. I did binge watching and enjoyed. I think if you have free time you can try to watch :)
  • I just love how this show makes me wanna go back to highschool so bad. It also makes me question the life I'm living right now, everytime they talk or ask a question I felt like they're talking to me. They not only just about steamy romance but also shows us the importance if friendship and family. This show also speaks about chasing our dreams and be who we want to be. This is the first Turkish show I've seen and I love it so much!
  • It is filled with teenagers acting like adults and adults acting like teenagers. Secrets and betrayals are two things that this show revolves around, along with putting friendships and relationships to the test. If you are not interested in on going drama that seems to always circle back around to where it started, I would not recommend. However, if a show filled with interesting characters, dramatic plot twists, and an appealing setting, you will be hooked.
  • Just stay away from any prejudices. This Show is diffirent then other teenager series. and when you realised the point, series getting better.it tooks you to good old times. The atmosphere of the series was very nice. The soundtrack was perfect. honestly it was not a masterpiece. but it is worth watching.

I don't love or hate this series. I found the premise silly to begin with, but I kept watching. Nescet is basically a cartoon. The relationship between the teachers and students was strange to me. But, it's TV, so... suspend your disbelief!

The love story that developed with Burcu and Kemal was not awful even though Burcu annoyed me during some of it. Kemal really grew on me during the show.

With the five teens, I struggled to find a lot of sympathy for Kerem in the early episodes. He improved some, but I wasn't a huge fan. Isik and Eda were both okay. Sinan had the best storyline. He was able to tug at my heartstrings, although I really wish he didn't hide things so much through the series from the friends he gained. Osman was easily my favorite. There was just something endearing and charming about that guy. (I think I have a bias for this actor though.. haha) That leads to a huge problem in season two for me though... Elif. Freaking Elif. I'm sorry, but Elif was a terrible and annoying character. She comes in for the second season to be a love interest for Osman apparently, and while the Osman actor certainly pulled his weight for the story (his initial obliviousness and his love sickness were both adorable), the Elif character just felt blah for me. I think I was supposed to root for them, of course, but all I could think was that Osman could do better. She did not endear herself to me in the initial scenes, and I never grew to like her. And they ruined the hazelnuts for Elif!? Freaking Elif!

I also hated the older versions of the characters. I wish they had just let the original actors have different hair and make them look older---the actors are older than teenagers anyway. Again, this series was just okay for me, but I kept watching for Osman, Sinan, the teachers they set up, and even Eda sometimes.
  • One of the things that i absolutely adored was the amazing soundrack, the music was completely on top ! You could easily understand the emotions of the characters throughout the music and of course the acting of the actors/actresses . Loved it ,waiting for season 2.
  • It's a series that those who love the youth series will definitely like. The characters and Istanbul are very well rendered.
  • First episodes were good, I liked them very much, but after the last three episodes and the final, director couldnt pass to the level of good serials director, tried to create something different but couldnt pass the exam
