  • Warning: Spoilers
Troy Roberts is the one who hosts the show though he has some reporters who talk to the victim's families and friends and narrates what happened as we go along the story.,

overall, a must watch for a crime documentary enthusiast
  • I just want to say that I love Dateline and the other shows produced but I will never watch Killer Motive again. I watched a couple because I wanted to see if maybe Troy Robert's would calm his "I am taking what I learned in reporter school on how to speak when giving the news, literal, without putting any of my own personality in it" demeanor. He did calm it down, but not enough. His professional inflection wipes away any hope for me to be able to relate and admire him. I would rather listen to a 4 year old whine and scream his way through an hour long story than to listen to Troy Robert's speak one sentence. Plus, he has an I don't give a crap expression on his face when interviewing anyone about their heartbreaking story. It's to the point of seeming disrespectful. I can't be the only one who sees this! I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE the layout and stories of Killer Motive (I tried to watch about three of them before I deleted it off my dvr because of my annoyance of him screwing up the whole show). He's got the looks for a great video interviewer but as soon as he says the first sentence, I'm ready to give up. The reason I'm writing this is because every time I see a commercial for that show I get very frustrated because it was so good and I can't enjoy watching it because of Troy Roberts. It's just so maddening! What I can and will do is watch it with my friends because we have fun parroting his way of speaking, but we can't binge watch because we all can't stand it. I'm not expecting to be as amazing as Keith Morrison. No one is. Side note: I've always said that if I won the lottery, one of the first things I would do is hire Mr Morrison to read me bedtime stories every night. I'm so not kidding either. That man should be Uber famous just for his speaking talent. I'm waiting for him to write some kind of story novel and turn it into an audiotape, mainly because I don't need a lottery win to have that in my life forever. Ok. I feel better...until the next commercial for it. Maybe you could help me figure out how to watch your interesting/informative "Killer Motive" WITHOUT hearing Mr. Roberts speak? I'd be most grateful🙂

Ps. And I ONLY watched the "48 Hours" shows that he is absent from.
  • & Too many repetitive scenes and fillers to drag each EP out. The REPORTER looks and sounds like he is falling asleep, which makes the series BORING
