• [Kim and Tina take cover, both are injured] 

  Kim Noakes : You lied to me, Mom. My whole life is a lie.

  Tina Noakes : Please don't say that.

  Kim Noakes : Why would you keep this from me?

  [pause] 

  Tina Noakes : Because I love you. And I only love you. There's nothing else. There's no other people. No other places. It's just you.

  Kim Noakes : Did you ever think maybe that's the problem?

  Tina Noakes : No, I didn't.

• [Brooks, Thompson and several armed thugs surround Kim, Tina and Nicky] 

  Brooks : [to Tina]  Good to see the little one all grown up too.

  Kim Noakes : What's he talking about?

  Brooks : Boyfriend's is a bit of a dick though, right?

  Nicky : [smiles]  Oh, we're not actually a couple, so joke's on you. I mean there was a kiss but it got ruined because of this whole diary listing. Anyway, basically this whole thing happen with this book...

  Brooks : Do you want to shut the fuck up?

  Nicky : Ummm... sure.

  Brooks : [to Tina]  What's wrong with the kid?

  Tina Noakes : I know, right?

  Kim Noakes : Wait, do you two know each other?

  Brooks : [looks at Tina]  Me and your mom used to be partners. Didn't we, Jo?

  [Kim is puzzled, recalling Jimmy Davis' last words "tell Jo"] 

  Kim Noakes : Jo?

  Tina Noakes : Please don't.

  Brooks : [mockingly]  Rising star of the force. So good in fact that she found out that I was on Jimmy's payroll. Didn't you, you little monkey?

  [Kim looks shocked. Tina remains silent. Brooks turns away from Tina and starts walking toward Kim] 

  Brooks : So I did what any good partner would do and I cut her in and business was good. Trust me.

  Tina Noakes : It wasn't like that Kim. I did it for him. He was my partner. He would have gone to prison for years otherwise.

  Brooks : [turns back to face Tina]  You did it for the money just like the rest of us.

  Tina Noakes : No, he begged me, Kim.

  Kim Noakes : [looks hurt]  But you took the money?

  Brooks : [sharply]  Just, like the rest of us.

  Tina Noakes : Kim, listen to me. Things got out of control really really fast. I tried to get out. But then Jimmy came after me.

  Brooks : Yeah, he came after you, but you're not who he found, are you?

  [Tina does not respond] 

  Kim Noakes : [quietly]  He found dad?

  Tina Noakes : We're gonna leave that night, but I... I was one day too late.

  Kim Noakes : This whole thing is because of you?

  [Tina does not respond] 

  Kim Noakes : [choked with tears]  Dad died because of you?

  [long pause. No one moves or speaks] 

  Kim Noakes : Okay. Okay.

  [one of the thugs approaches Kim and points his gun to her head] 

  Henchman : Next time you move, this gun goes off.

  Kim Noakes : Good to know.

  [suddenly, Kim moves her cuffed hands above her head, grabs the gun, turns it backwards and shoots the henchman, killing him. A brawl breaks out] 

• [Thompson holds Tina at gunpoint. Kim walks out of her hiding place and walks toward Thompson, raising her hands] 

  Nicky : Kim, don't.

  Kim Noakes : Do what you want. Kill me. Take the money. Go off somewhere and... eat a huge pile... of Jammie Dodgers.

  [Thompson is puzzled, unaware that Kim and Nicky decided earlier to use the phrase as a sign that Nicky get can off the landmine safely] 

  Thompson : Excuse me?

  [cautiously, Nicky moves his foot off the landmine. No explosion occurs] 

  Kim Noakes : I've heard that they are really nice.

  Thompson : You're weird!

  [Thompson points her gun at Kim. Before she can shoot, Nicky charges and tackles her down. They wrestle. A shot is heard, to Kim's fear. Nicky grabs the gun and throws it to Kim, who bends over and picks it up. Thompson stands on her feet, while Nicky is still on the ground, gasping in pain, clutching his hand to his body. Kim points the gun at Thompson, who raises her hands] 

  Kim Noakes : [worried]  Nicky, are you okay?

  Nicky : Oh no...

  [Nicky looks at his right palm, then shows it to Kim: there is an ugly scratch on his palm, but otherwise he is unharmed. Tina bursts out laughing] 

  Nicky : Look!

  Kim Noakes : Are you shot?

  Nicky : No, but that's really gonna sting in the bath.

  Thompson : [still raising her hands]  Okay. Look, I'm just gonna... just going to take the money and go. Okay?

  [Thompson picks the money bag up] 

  Thompson : [to Kim]  I know you're not going to shoot me in the back either. I can see it in your eyes. So I'm just going to leave and you're not going to stop me because you're just too nice.

  [Thompson starts walking away] 

  Tina Noakes : [looking at her watch]  Wait... wait... wait!

  [Thompson stops at her tracks] 

  Tina Noakes : Hang on, just a... few... more seconds.

  [puzzled, Thompson looks at Nicky, who quickly moves several feet backwards] 

  Thompson : For what?

  [a click is heard. Thompson looks at the ground, too late spotting the landmine. An explosion is heard]
