This is the story of Andrés (Kamil Nahhas), a shy and reserved teenager and Tom (Germán Aguilera), his caring and loving dad. They seem to live a common life with an ordinary routine, except for the uncomfortable and problematic relationship between them, which Tom fights every day to try to rebuild. They both have their own problems on their own in relation to school and work. One day, a decision will take to the limit their differences, making Tom wonder if he will ever see his son again. In their fight to go through this painful stage, they both will have to go through a hidden place in their memories and they will have to remember the most painful of their lives: their past.
Along with co-writer Pablo Moctezuma, Mariana Gómez brings a new heart-whelming story that has been touching hearts around Mexico. Por Ella was filmed in Querétaro, México by Gómez with help of filmmaker and musician Pablo Adame, and family and friends without any previous professional studies in Filmmaking. It had a budget of around 25 USD for the whole pre-production and production. "I was not expecting it at all, but surprisingly it reached official selections around the world in places such as Italy, Latinamerica and the United States. It also received a semi-finalist nomination at the Aphrodite Film Awards and it won Monthly Finalist at the Changing Face International Film Festival" she says. In December 2018, Gómez received support from her hometown's government to organize a red carpet, screening and a Q&A session, which served as the premiere for Por Ella.
