  • Almost everyone in Portugal knows Manuel João Vieira and his music. His bands (Ena Pá 2000, Irmãos Catita mainly) have been playing for many years now, and they show a burlesque, funny and "sweary" type of songs. That's what I expected when I watched "Um mundo Catita" but I was wrong. It's about Vieira's artistic life, but it's not just that. This miniseries is absolutely hilarious, very well produced with surprisingly good acting. Besides the classical movies references, the plot it's very unique and it develops into a beautiful finale that gives you total empathy with the main character. There are truly remarkable scenes that it will stay in my memory forever, like the Benfica's stadium scene or the surreal dinner with the dentist and her groom, apart many others. It's kind of sad the lack of recognition and viewers this show has in Portugal, but everyone that I know liked it as soon as they had the chance to see it. Please take 3.5 hours of your life and have a look, you will not regret the decision.
