Seriously is it your expectations were high and so you were disappointed? Or in a bad head space when you watched and couldn't get into it? Honestly idk how anyone could give this less than, say, a 6, by any metric - I don't understand people :/
Stop hating on Amy Schumer. This show is lovely. It's funny, sad and well made. The acting is great. Also a big shout out to the girl who plays young Beth. Amy deserves more Credits.
I'm not an Amy Shumer fan, but I absolutely love this show.
It's touching, funny and witty and I identify with Beth in so many ways.
Highly recommend it.

Her comedy can be hilarious, over the top crass, and empowering. I find her softer and more real self, her director and revelatory self fascinating and highly entertaining. She has done a great job with this series and I hope we get to see more. I only knew little bits about her personal life previously, so I don't really know which parts are true and which are dramatic license, but I can see the humanity in all of it. Just having a person who looks like A PERSON with REAL PEOPLE PROBLEMS being an actor is so refreshing. I just tried to watch Nicole Kidman in a new thing and had to shut it off, even though her acting is always amazing, because I could not look at the clay mold face. I appreciate real and raw.
I like some, but not all of Amy Schumer's past material. While I am not a super-fan, I appreciate that she can push the edge and I always respect that even if it doesn't appeal. I thought this would be worth a look.
It didn't start well. I almost bailed during the first episode. None of the characters were likeable. There didn't seem to be any chemistry among the cast. It was just awkward. They hooked me at the end of the first episode, so we decided to keep going.
It takes a couple of episodes, but it gains momentum. The cast and crew start to get a working flow, and the story line moves between broad humor and serious issues.
It is worth watching, but you will have to be patient with it.

- TriviaThere is no mention of John having autism in the first season of "Life & Beth," but Schumer says "he's most likely on the spectrum." The role of John was based on Schumer's real-life husband Chris Fischer, who was diagnosed a few years ago at age 39. The second season actually explores it.
