Solid start to what's undoubtedly going to be a great little series. I know the basics of this tale but I'm looking forward to more of a deep dive. Solid acting all around. Props to the make-up department -- I can't BELIEVE that's Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp. She's such an underrated actress.
  • A slow but very engaging start to a season filled with interesting characters, I'm not all too familiar with the Clinton scandal but I am definitely interested after this first episode. Can't wait for more.

    Wow
OMG that's Sarah Paulson???? I would have never ever guessed that she transformed completely. Wow great job she was marvelous. All the characters were spot on.

As I watched the Linda Tripp character, I kept saying to myself, who is that, there was something about her face. I couldn't figure out who that was, then the light went on, holy crap! That's Sarah Paulson! What a fantastic job she did, the hair, glasses, makeup, and just her acting skill, absolutely fabulous, can't wait to see the rest of the series!!

Sarah Paulson was perfect as Linda Tripp! Incredible actress. She embodied that sad, angry, hate filled, over worked and over looked woman of that era. Monica Lew, a generation too short for the me too movement....smart enough to know how to stick up for herself with no 21st century back up. Go to work in Texas Monica!
  • What's up with Edie Falco (60 yrs) playing a 30 yr old HRC? And, Clive Owen ...love Clive Owen but what accent is he going for? Doesn't even remotely sound like Clinton. Dennis Quaid nailed it in "The Special Relationship." And, the woman playing ML...doesn't even look like her, except they both have black hair.

Sarah Paulson, as usual, brings it. Love her! Fantastic. I forget I'm watching Paulson, and really watching Tripp. She is the best part, in my book.

I don't want to repeat what's already been stated, but this season has absolutely grabbed my attention with only the first episode. I'm absolutely excited to see the rest of the season.

Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones is an absolute standout. She plays Jones as a sympathetic participant in this storm.

It's a pretty well done production. A little slow-moving and if someone doesn't know the characters they didn't do enough to tell the whole story. But definitely interesting and fairly entertaining.

Wow, Episode 1 drew me in completely, with superb casting, acting, and even suspense.

Sarah Paulson is scary as the bitter and calculating Linda Tripp, who gets exiled to the Pentagon after her boss, Vince Foster, commits a very lonely suicide. "We asked all around the White House," a staffer tells furious Linda. "No one wants you here!"

Beanie Feldstein draws one in as 23-year-old lovesick White House intern Monica Lewinsky. In intriguing side roles, Annaleigh Ashley provides a stunning take on sexual-harassment accuser Paula Jones, and one hangs on every word from Margo Martindale as savvy publishing pro Lucianne Goldberg ("I live like I got nothing to lose. I recommend it!")

This glossy production paints an absorbing portrait of a spider cornering its prey. Yet, "loyalty is very important to me," Linda dishes to her new bud over chitchat about Weight Watchers entrees.

Out of morbid curiosity, the viewer can't help but stay tuned.
  • It's always fun to watch the Hollywood spin on the Clinton's. The additional fun is this based on the book by Jeffrey Toobin, CNN's legal guy who w*nks during conference calls...
  • "FX's" real life crime anthology series from Ryan Murphy is back this time in season 3 which focuses on the Clinton scandal and Impeachment. Episode one "Exiles" starts it off with longtime white house staffer Linda Tripp(the one and only great Sarah Paulson who's greatly transformed) being demoted and moved to the Pentagon where she meets an energy filled new government intern named Monica Lewinsky(Beanie Feldstein) and the two hit it off and you see soon that this relationship will reveal plenty to the American public. Also showcased and focused on in the first episode is the sexual harassment lawsuit from Paula Jones(Annaleigh Ashford) who claimed Bill Clinton did some naughty things to her as Arkansas governor. The episode was well written and acted super with cast chemistry at A plus levels, and it captures the times of the mid to late 90's well. Really this was a fine start to another hit work from Ryan Murphy.

American Crime Story returns this time looking at the Clintons.

Impeachment examines the scandals that led to Special Counsel being appointed by Congress.

It is about the suicide of Vince Foster. Monica Lewinsky the young intern having affair with President Clinton.

Paula Jones the woman who felt she was embarrassed by the then Governor Clinton.

Linda Tripp the vindictive White House operator who had it in for the Clintons.

This was an introduction of some of the main players. They all had some kind of an agenda.

I did thing casting was a problem. Beanie Feldstein the actress playing Monica was too chubby. Sarah Paulson was too bewigged.

We only got brief glimpses of Bill and Hillary portrayed by actors who are nowhere near their age when the events took place.

First off, BAAAAD prosthetic nose (you know who it is). Second, WOW...gotta be the WORST casting for Lewinsky. Typically castings are quite liberal (no pun intended), but not this time. Not sure what angle they're going for here. Haven't seen Clinton yet, but at this point I assume it's Channing Tatum lol ?

I'll admit it, i had my doubts. After all, the first two seasons covered shocking murders. I wasn't sure how "crime-y" this season would actually be. I mean... perjury? Now that we've lived through Trump? Anyway, I was wrong! The first two seasons of this show were riveting. The best network television has to offer. I should have known this season would be up to snuff. Obviously Sarah Paulson slays. She has created a really complex and intriguing character out of someone who has typically been thought of as a caricature villain. She has this line, "that's no good!" when she's having lunch with Monica. It's a response to Monica talking about relationship issues, and Monica takes it as a consoling remark, but it almost sounds as if Linda is actually saying, "that's not good enough my purposes." Beanie and Annaleigh are also both fantastic. Beanie's Monica is just so innocent and trusting. Annaleigh's Paula is so naive and out of her depth. It is heartbreaking to watch these women being manipulated by the powerful people (mostly men) around them, using their stories for personal gain. Paula's husband is particularly atrocious, using her sexual harassment case to further his acting career. Part of me wondered why this story needed to be told now, how impactful it would be given the far more dramatic scandals of the past four years. But because it focuses on these three women, because it tells a side of the story most people will not be at all familiar with, it couldn't be MORE relevant nor more timely, particularly given the #MeToo movement. I also love that Monica is a producer. Finally, she's reclaiming her story. Finally, we're able to watch these events unfold outside the lens of powerful male politicians with hidden agendas. American Crime Story is Ryan Murphy's masterpiece. Much of his Netflix stuff has been just okay, but this show is unfailingly good. I can't wait for the rest!
  • Great series well made and acted. I would have given it a 10 if not for the "Elephant in the room" (Pun intended) Monica. In some scenes she almost looks obese Please look at actual pics of Monica at the time. She is actually about 15 lbs overweight. If Sarah Paulson gained 20 lbs for her role why couldn't Beanie Feldstein lose 20 lbs. Realistically all of Clinton's "girls" were actually quite svelte and to believe he almost lost his presidency to someone as overweight as the Monica character was hard for me to believe.
  • I put off watching it for a while, thinking it would probably be sordid and overly sensational. But once I finally starting watching the episodes I soon got hooked. SUCH good writing, accuracy, acting, dialog. I should have known from the stellar cast, many of whom are very picky about the roles they choose. A definite 10. It's like an accurate record of this time in American history.

If you're into wigs , which are being worn by actors who are just as fake, obvious and can't pull it off, this is your show .

It's beyond me why the topic was chosen to be part of the Amerina CRIME Story franchise ; apart from nobody caring about the Clinton disgression, could the authors not just picked a different venue to present whatever they have to tell ?

The first two seasons were fearly decent and on topic ; this is not only a completely different genre , it is also suffering from lazy writing and a general lack of competence in film making and story telling .

Late night TV ads offer better scenes than this abomination , even better wardrobe and hair/makeup stylists .
  • Not being an American, politics doesn't have me on a particular side.

Small sample sum to go by so far, but looks like sadly heading the way of Bill was hard done by by nasty people around him.

Production seems good, the way they set it up looks good, acting isn't great and appears it's got a political agenda which will wear thin fir some.

Probably would have been better with Sarah P playing Monica, as the doe eyed giggly girl portrayal has gotten annoying after 1 episode.

As it concludes seems everyone who was against Clinton was portrayed in a bad light. Monica has been doubled in size and comes across as thick, Tripp mouth breathes with bad teeth, others are drunks or nasty vindictive people, while Bill is a really nice guy who likes women too much & Hilary who barely features is a saint. Very heavy political bias which detracts from something otherwise was quite well done and good have been good had they not gone that road.
  • Of course they make anyone opposed to the Clintons look bad. One look at all the liberal actors in this tells you everything you need to know.

Great contrast from the exciting, colorful fast paced first season. This season's filter is that dull, grey drab (why is that so commonplace nowadays)? 90% of screentime is characters doing useless things like walking or, in one scene, just eating chips and being annoyed by some office smell. And none of the characters are likeable or real.
