From The Shining to I Origins, these are just some of the worst offenders when it comes to moving between floors...
This article contains spoilers for just about every film on its list.
I don’t know when it started exactly.
When I was very young, it was fine. I maybe even enjoyed getting on an elevator and being whisked off, but somewhere in the timeline of my life, something changed. I began to dread stepping onto one. My heart would pound, a cold sweat would creep down my neck and my breath would quicken.
“What’s wrong?” a bemused acquaintance would ask as we were about to embark.
“Oh! Nothing, really,” I’d respond as casually as I could for someone suddenly about to lose control of their bowels. “I just thought I might take the stairs. Bit of exercise, you know.”
“But it…it’s 18 flights,...

We got some answers in addition to questions, questions, and more questions. Plus a nasty cliffhanger to boot!
In a crackling, suspenseful Taboo Season 1 Episode 2, we start to see a few dents in the mighty armor of James Delaney, and the show is much the better for it.
I never expected to end the episode with Delaney collapsed on the cobblestones, a pig sticker in his gut, and I was pleasantly surprised, frankly.
Up to this point, he was a one man apocalypse, the unstoppable force.
I said in my Taboo premiere review that it would make the show much more compelling to have him a little vulnerable at times. Well, that's just what we got.
This episode made me think of Delaney as a 19th century version of Clint Eastwood's "Man With No Name" character from his spaghetti western days, assembling a team of slimy minions to do his bidding,...

Things got downright spooky on week 7 of Dancing With the Stars, as the final eight couples performed both individual and team dances. It was a freestyle fright night of sorts — starring TeamCreepy versus TeamItsyBitsy — and we faced the prospect of Michael Waltrip and Tommy Chong surviving yet another week. Now that’s what I call scary!
That said, popping back to the ballroom to say “boo” on this Halloween-themed live show were returning head judge Len Goodman (who else has missed the prospect of a “10 from Len” during his latest hiatus?) and co-host Erin Andrews (back from World Series duty...

In one of his regular Uncut series of editorials following the release of Before Midnight, esteemed critic Mark Kermode posed an intriguing question; what is the perfect film trilogy? Given the subject, naturally Richard Linklater’s Before… trio was mooted, along with the more traditional suggestions of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and The Godfather, and the perhaps most objectively reasonable pick of Toy Story. Regardless of your personal choice, there can be little doubting that movie trilogies as a whole wind up becoming divisive. There are few consistent enough to merit consideration as a perfect whole. The aforementioned Godfather is let down by its third entry, numerous notches below the masterpieces of Parts 1 & 2. Likewise Star Wars. Even Lord of the Rings suffers naysayers regarding Fellowship and Two Towers. Could it be that, in such a tricky field, The Dark Knight saga is worthy of an honorable mention?
It is a strange thought.

On the heels of WrestleMania 30, WWE will be taking it to the extreme at their sixth annual Extreme Rules pay-per-view on May 4 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Given the PG aspirations of WWE in recent years, however, the action won’t nearly be as “extreme” as when the term was coined in the more violent, hard-hitting 1990s.
WWE considers gratuitous chairshots and bloodletting too extreme for TV nowadays, but such excesses were a necessary evil when they first rose to notoriety, insists a man who personified the era.
“Extreme rules, hardcore wrestling — whatever they want to call it — was born out of a necessity to survive,” said the hardcore legend Terry Funk, who revolutionized the business. “In Ecw, hardcore wrestling wasn’t done just for the fun of it. It was done for a purpose, for a reason. And for me, it was done to exist and produce a revenue for my family.

Welcome to Issue 24 of ‘The Marvelous Da7e!’
Real quick mission statement: this column is for discussion of superhero movie news and superhero movies. Titular allegiance aside, this sphere includes non-Marvel properties.
This week: Villains! DC made a whole bad-guy documentary and Chris Cooper has a few words about our “introduction” to Norman Osborn!
Happy post-holiday, everyone. I’ll assume you’re either hungover or eating a lot of cold leftovers. Or maybe you went in to work today knowing that no one was doing to be doing anything really important, so why not get paid for it?
Or, Lord Forgive You, you’re in line for Black Friday right now. Please do not kill anyone.
Me? I’ve been watching DVDs and trying to make myself feel better about DC Comics.

Superior Spider-Man #19 Shakes Up the Spider-Man Timestream
Writer: Dan Slott
Art: Ryan Stegman
Colors: Edgar Delgado
Cover: Ryan Stegman and Jason Howard
Marvel often likes to boast how a certain story is going to shake things up and forever change the Marvel universe. So when Dan Slott began teasing across social media and during interviews that Superior Spider-Man #19 was just such a story, some may have taken it with a grain of salt and a roll of the eyes. Especially if they haven’t been a fan of the writer’s controversial run featuring the insidious mind of Doctor Octopus in the body of Peter Parker. But it seems the Superior Spider scribe wasn’t just pulling our webs, as this most recent issue delivered on its promise to shake things up.
After purging himself of Peter Parker’s memory fragment, Octavius is left with only the memories of Peter that he’s previously accessed.
