Not the best story, mediocre acting but If you don't expect too much, it is quite enjoyable. A casual family action comedy movie with sufficient entertainment. I did enjoy watching it without pause.
The movie is certainly worth watching thanks to free acting by Simkins. There are many funny moments in the movie especially involving Simkins. This young kid lightens up the mood.
Keep your logical mind aside and just enjoy the movie.

It's dumb, funny and hardly makes sense. The jokes are okay. Looks like it is aimed at a younger and older demographic. This is definitely in the "watch it with your family on a lazy night" category.
Good watch, would watch again, and can recommend.
This movie has a lot of good surprises to it.
I'm not a big fan of Malin Akerman, but I'm not going to say she's not good in action sequence (and she does it in heels), but Joe Manganiello and Ken Marino (who is credited in IMDB as "Glen" though there is a whole running joke with his name being "Ron") both sort of rule the spotlight when they're on screen and she gets overshadowed even though she's the "main" character (at least out of the adults).
The kids mostly do an amazing job, I think they'll be worth watching as they grow in their careers.
The only big "problem" I'm seeing in this is that you're crossing a heist movie with a rescue movie, with kids.....and it feels a lot like "Dora and the Lost City of Gold" they're is even 4 of them, 2 are related. It's more likely just a coincidence of similarities, but it's a god comparison of when it gets noisy versus how to make it more seemless (Dora wins).
Can't imagine this will be disappointing watch for younger audiences, and it's definitely good enough for adults too.

Not for adults, but for children a pretty exciting and nice spy-like movie. They seemed to like it! So their rating is 7.

It is a kids' action film, but there are loads of jokes for adults. It is fun, adventurous and really cool. I enjoyed it way more than expected.
It's that time of the week again when Netflix drop another original film. By now, I should know to expect extremely throwaway films full of insanely generic characters and a badly drawn out narrative. The Sleepover actually sinks to very low levels of "action" and "comedy" in a film that doesn't know who its target audience is. It's far too childish for adults to enjoy but then it's a film that I don't even think kids will get any enjoyment from. The performances are irritating and the plot is so easy to predict it's just embarrassing, Ken Marino doing the hapless dad routine very badly and just getting in the way. Every once in a while, Netflix will release an original film that bucks the trend of being so lazy and rubbish but The Sleepover is just not that film.

If you enjoyed the Spy Kids movies of a decade ago, than this movie is for you. Its a feel good movie, bringing together a family. Its generational and quirky.
The leads are perfectly cast. Each playing on their own strengths. From the macho male to the endearing pluck child, this show has it all.
Best watched with family, kids can suspend belief, but can be a guilty pleasure if its a quiet night at home you crave.

In the age from 5 to100, its entertaining, also funny, and for the small ones pretty tense. the acting are fine, the dialouges scripted and without originality, but a good kids save mum dad flick.
i give it a 6 cause its not disney and the perfection of living arent as flamboyant and perfect as in forementioned productions containing kid actors. so from a grumpy old man its a recommend.

I watched this movie because it was trending on Netflix, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time. Cheesy, cringy type of movie with awful acting and even worse script. The story line is extremely stupid. The jokes aren't funny. The only reason I kept watching it till the end was the younger brother character, whose acting was pretty good. The rest of the cast were very weak with robotic performances. Don't watch!
A LOT of people these days of internet isolation forget that there are other people in the world. Some are called children. Some are called families. This is a really good family movie. Like so many family movies my parents took us to when I was a kid, The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Swiss Family Robinson, That Darn Cat, The Shaggy DA, etc., etc., etc., this movie is made for family viewing. It's also made for children. And older folks who still like family movies. And me. And you. Make some popcorn.
Clancy is a 15 year old girl in suburbia. She fights with her overprotective mother (Malin Akerman). Her father (Ken Marino) is a baker. Her younger brother Kevin tells tall tales. Her best friend Mim is sassy. Kevin has a sleepover with friend Lewis. The four kids are launched into a night of crazy adventures when the parents get kidnapped and they discover that their mother is a former high class thief in witness protection. The mother is reunited with former lover Leo (Joe Manganiello) to steal a valuable crown.
I like all the actors. This is like a combination of Spy Kids and Adventures in Babysitting except less, stupider, and cheaper. It's not the end of the world. I still like the characters for the most part. The kids are all great but it probably has too much of the adults. Jay should definitely be a grizzly old man living in the abandoned subway. This is a Netflix flick which seems to be more than a Disney TV movie but less than a full theatrical release.

Cute family movie. My sister is the tea party guide you can see at 47 mins! Rip to her potential scenes though.

I enjoyed the film. But, there are decidedly lame aspects to the story. Production and acting are fine and help the somewhat stale retread of a "secret" family history of a checkered past. Some standard elements of gross out humor that really weren't needed, and the hammer is heavy coming down to have the "lessons learned" from the caper about belief in one's self and love. On the other hand, there wasn't really anything inappropriate for kids and that is sometimes amazing in a film. (And I say that as a single man without any kids.) Been done much better, but this still was a fun film to watch.

Watched this with my son and he was giggling away which made me laugh too. For what it is, it wasn't a bad movie to watch with the kids.

Thankfully there is no sappiness. Fast paced enough to keep your memontum to not lose interest. Kind of some quasi inappropriate jokes for age target, but overall "good"

The nerdy kid, the kid that's sick of everything and scared of everything. The adventurous friend and the righteous friend. This movie is so formumatic it's pathetic. No surprises; just the formula.

My kids thoroughly enjoyed this. I even have to admit I liked it. It's not as cheesy as ther reviews say. Wholesome family fun!
The Sleepover surely caters towards the late-night family movie vibe. I had nothing really to do so I went to check this movie out and I found myself having a decent to somewhat more positive time. A definite favourite in this one is Ron played by Ken Marino. He's meant to be the comedy relief for the criminal gang and it works out, although nothing special. This one is not a must-watch but a nice way to be entertained for at least a little bit. I would recommend it on a boring afternoon or if you have nothing better to do.

Decent cast,story,cinematography & more!
Had action, comedy & was all together enjoyable.
Maxwell-Kevin was hilarious, check the movie out!
This movie has so many completely nonsensical moments it's just painful to watch. Even the comedic relief is just painful. What was everyone involved thinking when signing on for this?
