The young warrior Son Goku sets out on a quest, racing against time and the vengeful King Piccolo, to collect a set of seven magical orbs that will grant their wielder unlimited power.
Goku is seen in a poster wearing a sweatshirt with Japanese characters on them. These characters (actually the same one repeated over and over) are the Japanese character "kame," which means "turtle." This was the symbol any student of Master Roshi (who is also known as the Turtle Hermit) would wear.

When Goku finds his dying grandpa under the rubble of their destroyed home, he tells him that Lord Piccolo has returned for the 7 Dragonballs. When Bulma arrives at his destroyed home searching for the Dragonballs, he asks if she's Piccolo, despite grandpa Gohan clearly referring to him by male pronouns.
The title doesn't appear on screen until the end.
