  • There is a writing of characters that manages to unify the different stories, the different relationships that are established between them. They are characters who end up being endearing despite their out-of-tone at times, or the disappointments they may experience or create themselves. It is a well written, optimistic and humanistic comedy.
  • A holiday movie that can be watched with sympathetic actors, plausible situations and dialogues that seem spontaneous. A simple moment to spend like a week's camping holiday.

A l'abordage (all hands on deck) by Guillaume Brac is one of those movies you wish never ended. You sit in awe fearing that something bad will happen - almost expecting it; because could such beauty exist without anything ruining it? Although every beginning comes with an end, and although we might fear everything we know coming to an end- A l'abordage gives me hope. Everything is going to be okay. The scenery is idyllic and beautiful. The sun is shining on the flowing river. Friendship, brotherhood and love. The movie is special because of its authenticity. It's not pretending to be anything and it doesn't follow any formula. It is so complicated because of its simplicity. I'm going to watch it again today. And then in a couple of months. An ode to a funny, interesting and excellent movie. 10/10.
  • The whole movie oozes along flirting with the beauty of normal scenes that are not out of place in an ordinary day in an ordinary life, scenes that intensely beautiful but so common, and so often only recognized after the fact.

    Merci for making this movie.
