There is a scene where Chev Chelios attempts to shoot a man cowering on the floor, and when he pulls the trigger and finds the gun empty, utters the line "you lucky bastard!". The same scenario also appears in Snatch (2000), which also stars Jason Statham, only the antagonist in that scene is Vinnie Jones.

Maynard James Keenan: The man with the control to the electric shock collar is the lead singer of prog-metal band Tool.

Danny Lohner: The man accompanying the owner of the shock collar that Chev Chelios steals is Danny Lohner, of Nine Inch Nails and various other industrial projects.

The outfit that Jason Statham wears for most the movie resembles the outfit of Claude from GTA 3, the crank movies have many of references to the popular videogame.

Not counting when he first wakes up, Chev Chelios recharges his heart a total of nine times throughout the film

At Comic-Con 2011, star Efren Ramirez revealed that there will be a Crank 3 but Jason Statham may not return, as Chev was burnt alive. As of 2020, Crank 3 hasn't happened.

After Crank: High Voltage was released, Neveldine and Taylor announced that there would be a 3rd film with Jason Statham once again returning as Chev Chelios. As of 2020, the 3rd film hasn't happened.

The extra scenes during the end credits hinted at a possible Crank 3.

Both Jason Statham and David Carradine, although the two actors are not met in the film scene, They both have played the main character Frankenstein in Death Race. Jason Statham has played the character since 2008 with the title Death Race, while David Carradine has played since 1975 with the title Death Race 2000.
