A small-town girl ventures to Los Angeles and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer.
Cher has stated that she felt this could've been a much better film, pinning the blame on its writer/director, Steve Antin: "Terrible director! Really terrible director. And really terrible script. I remember him saying to me, I don't care about what you say, I just want to shoot the dance numbers." She also added that had it been shorter, it would "have squeaked by and been a really good popcorn movie".
Wait a minute...
Ali Rose: You had to make an appearance at your own party?
Marcus: Would've been rude not to, right?
When Ali and Marcus are driving, her hair is pulled up. When they arrive at his house for the party, her hair is down. The next scene shows a close up of her pulling her hair down.
The credits play over a background of the stage set from the final scene ("Show Me How to Burlesque" dance number).
