The upcoming Britney Spears biopic is in danger of never happening due to the pop princess’s indecisiveness, and insiders reveal that she keeps “changing her mind like the wind.”
Britney Spears Claimed The Biopic Would Be A “Fictional Musical”
Britney Spears is not exactly known for her impeccable mental health, and the “Toxic” singer, who is dating ex-con Paul Soliz again, is reportedly tricky to work with.
After an intense bidding war, Universal Studios won the rights to the biopic and will produce it. Wicked director John M. Chu will direct the movie based on Britney’s autobiography, “The Woman In Me,” which came out in October 2023.
Apparently, Britney’s manager, Cade Hudson, is an executive producer on the film. He wants to convey the singer’s message, but the project has no clear direction.
Chu said,
“I want to do her justice and tell her story right. But we’ll see.

When looking at what Alan Cumming has been in, there are great films covering many genres. More often than not, he shows how he can turn into almost any character in any role, one of cinema's true chameleons. He is an award-winning actor as well, earning an Emmy Award and BAFTA Award while also picking up a Tony Award for his work on the stage. He has been acting on television since 1984, in movies since 1986, and on the stage since 1988. Along the way, he has become a cult favorite for several of his roles.
However, Cumming has not just enjoyed roles in indie movies and art house fare. He has appeared in two of the biggest franchises in the world, with a role in the James Bond franchise (Goldeneye) and the Marvel Universe with a role as Nightcrawler in X-Men 2. The latest in a series of writers on their go-to comfort movies is a look back to the camp pleasures of Cher and Christina Aguilera together at last
Unlike many of my fellow cinephiles, I’m not a chronic re-watcher. One or sometimes two viewings of a film tends to be enough; enough years need to pass for me to forget salient details before I consider a third. But there are exceptions, some more noble than others. Recently, The Zone of Interest needled me into multiple cinema trips, as I unparceled its formal and thematic complexities with differently revelatory results each time. But I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen Steve Antin’s less-than-seminal 2010 musical Burlesque, a film with precisely zero complexities to unparcel, that exerts a strangely forceful hold on me just the same.
If it pops up on an in-flight entertainment menu – which...

Fourteen years ago, Christina Aguilera and Cher taught us all about air rights and how to put on an incredible show in their campy cult classic movie Burlesque, and the project remains iconic to this day!
In it, Christina played a talented woman named Ali who sang and danced her way to saving a beloved club from utter ruin. She shared the screen with a talented (and very wealthy) cast. Many of them have had lengthy careers in Hollywood as actors, musicians and dancers that continue to this day.
We got curious and did some digging to see how much each of the stars from the movie was worth. The top earner has an impressive fortune topping out over $300 million to their name. Any guesses on how much everyone is worth?

Frozen became a hit for Disney with critically acclaimed songs, with the film taking an arguably unconventional approach to the cast members who actually sing the movies' tracks. Following the first movie's release in 2013, Frozen and Frozen II broke box office records and garnered various awards wins and nominations for their compelling narratives and original music a trend that Disney's Frozen 3 is expected to continue. Still renowned for its catchy soundtrack a decade later, the release of Frozen saw its number-one song, Let It Go!, skyrocket on the charts as well.
Let It Go! won both an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2014 and a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Tthe Frozen soundtrack won an Academy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and had a second nomination. It was not just the music that made Frozen so beloved, but its killer cast and the dynamic characters they played.

Hough and her brother Derek Hough got big breaks thanks to their dancing skills. Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl is a dreamy, melancholy portrait of a veteran Las Vegas dancer reeling from the news that her career has hit its expiration date. The movie is as gossamer-thin as the wings that the title character, Shelly — played by Pamela Anderson with an undiluted sense of heartbreak — keeps tearing on her stage costume. The story more often drifts than advances, favoring ambience over substance in a few too many wordless sequences observing Shelly wandering or dancing or just staring into the abyss in sun-blasted parking lots, on rooftops and streets, bathed in lens flare and the shimmering score of Andrew Wyatt.
After her promising 2013 feature debut Palo Alto and her sophomore stumble seven years later with Mainstream, Coppola seems more in thrall than ever to the impressionistic style of Aunt Sofia. But the new film — written by Kate Gersten, a Coppola clan member by marriage...

Ali and Christina Aguilera share a connection beyond fame in the movie Burlesque, inspired by Aguilera's performances with the Pussycat Dolls. The age of Christina Aguilera during filming mirrors that of her character Ali, showcasing a parallel in experience and determination for success. Despite critical reviews, Burlesque received praise for heartfelt performances from Aguilera, Cher, and Tucci.

Watch these must-see titles on Netflix before they leave, like the energetic Burlesque and hilarious Happy Gilmore. Netflix's diverse selection of films and shows keeps viewers entertained, offering something for all tastes. From classics like The Great Gatsby to thrillers like Split, each title adds something unique to the streaming experience.
Netflix might break fans' hearts when their favorite movies and TV shows leave the platform, but the best thing to do is to watch these titles before they're no longer available. With big streamers like Netflix, films become available on and off throughout the year, so many of these great projects will be back later in the year, or the start of the next one. Half the fun of subscribing to Netflix and other streaming services is browsing the many options and discovering something new that impacts the viewer.

Christina Aguilera and Cher‘s Burlesque is a cult classic that taught us all about air rights and how to put on a show!

“Oppenheimer” reigned at the 81st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday just as it once loomed large at the summer box office. The sprawling examination of J. Robert Oppenheimer and the creation of the atomic bomb racked up five wins, the most of any movie, including the prize for best motion picture drama. “Poor Things,” a feminist reimagining of the Frankenstein tale, was named best motion picture, musical or comedy, one of two victories for the post-modern film.
On the television front, “Succession,” a scabrous look at a Murdoch-esque mogul and his dysfunctional family, won a leading four prizes, including best drama series. The show ended its four-season run in May. “The Bear,” the story of a Chicago restaurant struggling to keep its doors open, earned three prizes, including best comedy series and best leading actor and actress in a musical or comedy for Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri.

Outstanding performances can elevate even the worst musicals, like Maddie Ziegler's in "Music" and Gene Kelly's in "Xanadu." Despite critical and commercial failures, talents like Kelly Clarkson in "From Justin to Kelly" and Michelle Pfeiffer in "Grease 2" are worth watching. Cher's powerful vocals in "Burlesque" and Emmy Rossum's remarkable portrayal of Christine in "Phantom of the Opera" solidify their status as entertainment legends.
Musicals, one of the most beloved genres in Hollywood, have produced some great performances even in bad movies. Full of enchanting performances, catchy songs, and dazzling theatrics, it's easy to see why they are so popular. When done well, they can be extraordinary, but not all musicals hit the mark. Over the years, some have failed to resonate with critics and audiences. But even in less successful musicals, there can be outstanding performances by actors that make them worth watching. The first Golden Globe Award nominations issued by the new Golden Globes organization — an overhaul of the late Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with a lot of new members, new rules and a new broadcasting partner in CBS — were issued early Monday morning, and you know what? They’re pretty unobjectionable.
Yes, the categories are larger than they used to be, expanding from five to six slots, which certainly helps to make more stakeholders happy on a morning like this — but also increases the possibility of more bizarre nominees of the sort the HFPA was famous for, like Burlesque, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and The Tourist. And yet, with only a couple of exceptions — a best musical/comedy actress nom for Jennifer Lawrence’s turn in the summer rom-com No Hard Feelings and a best original song nom for a Bruce Springsteen song from a film that I didn’t even remember existed,...

Musicians like Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga have successfully transitioned into acting, showcasing their talent in films like Burlesque and A Star Is Born. While casting singers in movies can be risky, films like Hocus Pocus and Hotel Transylvania benefited from the performances of Bette Midler and Selena Gomez, respectively. Singers like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé have proven their acting abilities in films like Hustlers and Dreamgirls, demonstrating their versatility and dedication to their craft.
Casting a singer in a movie is a real gamble. Acting requires specific preparation and talent, yet a lot of musicians have shown their interest in the job and still received the part. Christina Aguilera has been a force in the music industry ever since she released her 1999 self-titled debut album, which included popular hits like "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants." She has since released 10 studio albums, including her latest, "Aguilera," which dropped on May 31, 2022, entirely in Spanish. But aside from Aguilera's impressive vocal skills and hit-maker career, we've also found ourselves enamored by the singer's love life.
Aguilera's been in a few major romances, including her current relationship with her fiancé, Matthew D. Rutler, who's also the father of her youngest child.
