Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.

The mystery comedy is set to premiere at South by Southwest Festival on March 7 before releasing on Prime Video on May 1.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are attached to produce a new film based on an original idea from Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.

The Hawaii-set crime caper, which is currently being shopped to studios and streamers, is drawing comparisons in the industry to “The Departed” and “Goodfellas.” Even in spirit, there are no deals in place and the viability of the project depends on a distributor, according to multiple sources familiar with the package, but the untitled drama is set to be written by author and journalist Nick Bilton, who helmed the 2021 HBO documentary “Fake Famous.”

Johnson and Blunt, who previously worked together on “Jungle Cruise,” brought the project to Scorsese and DiCaprio, and once they expressed interest, they all went to Bilton to ask him about writing.

Producers on the forthcoming film include Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn.

Martin Scorsese is looking to make a splash with a star-studded crime package set in Hawaii.

A new package that hit the town would star Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt. Scorsese would direct the feature from a script by journalist and author Nick Bilton.

The fact-based untitled movie is said to be in the mold of Goodfellas and The Departed and center on a mob boss vying for control of the Hawaiian islands in the 1960s and 1970s.

Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn serve as producers.

Psychological thrillers often offer viewers intellectual pleasure as they follow the clues to the plot twist. The endings of such films also tend to deliver mind-blowing, thought-provoking twists. Sadly, there's no sequel to Shutter Island. However, there are plenty of great thrillers out there that offer a similar experience.

Movies where it’s revealed that the whole plot was happening in the protagonist’s head all along can be very hit or miss. Yes, yes, I know that Albus Dumbledore told Harry Potter that even though their conversation was happening in the latter’s head, it didn’t make it any less real. Yet, using that as a plot twist always makes the whole exercise a little cheap, and the only way to kind of bypass that feeling is by engrossing the audience in the narrative to such an extent that the last-minute attempt at recontextualizing the events doesn’t even matter. For example, there’s The Wizard of Oz, which is such a magical film that the knowledge that it was all a dream is borderline irrelevant. Stay, Ghost Stories, Donnie Darko, and Identity kind of make more sense when you find out that it was all being imagined by someone.

20th Century Studios is moving forward with a long-awaited adaptation of The Devil in the White City, based on Erik Larson’s bestselling 2004 nonfiction book. The film, currently in its early stages, has Leonardo DiCaprio in talks to star and Martin Scorsese in discussions to direct. Both are also set to produce alongside Stacey Sher, Rick Yorn, and Jennifer Davisson, DiCaprio’s partner at Appian Way Productions.

The story, set against the backdrop of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, intertwines the achievements of architect Daniel Burnham with the sinister deeds of Dr. H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims. Larson’s book paints a vivid picture of the contrasts between the grandeur of the fair and Holmes’s horrifying crimes.
